Dear Forumer, Kindly advice me whether which car should i get? A new honda city price range from RM 85-89k or a used honda 2.0 price around 90k++ (yr 2007 and above)

In a dilemma for now.

Thank You

Jiunn

Cost wise, there's gonna be a difference in interest rates....2.8%(new car) vs 4.8%(2nd hand),so the civic is gonna be a little bit more expensive.

Other factors:

1. Warranty - City still got warranty
2. Fuel Economy - City wins
3. Power - Civic wins
4. Handling - Civic wins
5. Size - Civic bigger , but City has tons of room available too
6. Condition - Need to make sure Civic has not been in major accident

IMO, it boils down to your convenience & functionality. To me, the Civic has gotten too big over the years, where the new City has taken the place of the Civic of the 90's. For town driving I'd prefer the City, but for long road trips I'd go for the Civic.

Good Luck deciding..

rough calculation of a city RM90480 and a 2007 civic 2.0 RM92000

with new car loan rate 2.8% and 3.6% for a 2nd car loan at 7 years loan

the city u will be paying RM1329 and civic RM1450

not much diff i would say, but if u choose civic, there is no more warranty, and maybe other issues you might not know of or you will be getting ...

and of course at the end of the 7 years, ur city is 7 years old but the civic is 7 + 4(2007) 11 years old ...

and of course warranty, new car comes with 3 year warranty

i had this dillemma too ... even an accord 2.4 ...

but then i got a city e spec ...
