The country’s oldest cycling event has Naza World, Chevrolet and Eftra Group as one of its main sponsors for the 2011 round that will be kicking off next week.

Jelajah 1Malaysia 2011 will begin on 8 March and will see the participating cyclists race to complete six stages over the course of six days. Naza Group of Companies has signed on as the main sponsor for the Asian jersey that will be worn by the Asian champion of the race.

The Asian jersey was presented by Jelajah 1Malaysia’s Chief Executive Officer, Datuk Haji Naim Mohamad, to the Joint Group Executive Chairman of the Naza Group of Companies, Datuk Haji SM Faisal SM Nasimudin.

The event also saw the presentation of mock keys for the 54 Chevrolet Captivas and 55 Harley Davidson motorcycles that will be used during the course of the race. The presentation was witnessed by Youth and Sports Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Shabery Cheek.

“Naza World, Chevrolet and Eftra are the three Naza brands that are proud to be associated with Jelajah 1Malaysia, which is one of the most prestigious cycling event in the region,” said Faisal.

The organisers of Jelajah 1Malaysia welcomed the contribution from Naza World and were grateful for their support and backing.

Jelajah 1Malaysia was launched back in 1963 to coincide with Malaysia Day and has since grown by leaps and bounds to become a platform for budding young cyclists to develop and hone their skills on the cycling racing stage.
