world's fastest sedan the Brabus SV12 E Class 6.3 litre V12 twin turbo goes for RM2.1 mil. i would hazard a guess that the BMW ///M5 should b around RM1.2-1.5 mil

beautiful car nonetheless.... u gotta love those huge front vents!!! menancing!!!

Malaysian car prices suck.. Its just sad. I could get the M5 here, drive away with all on road costs for AUD$220,000.

Even with the currency at AUD1/3RM which was its peak, that would be a total of RM660,000 for a M5.

RM660,000 cannot even buy the E60 545i im sure...

And it would be mad to think how much the road tax would be for the M5.. but nmind lar.. if u have money to buy a RM1.2 - 1.3mil car, im sure the roadtax wouldnt be a problem..

hahaha

Well guys, the M5 is priced better than you think. Its goin for about RM900k and yes.. u can get an 545i for RM660,000. Its actually about RM630k. The M5 is a work of art. The looks of the car is one thing, but the dynamics of the car is another thing all together. The Brabus might not be a fair contender to the M5 as the AMG E55 is the direct contender to the M5. Moreover, the Brabus has twin turbos on such a big engine whereas the M5 is NA, generating 507bhp from a 5.5 V10 block. The Brabus might be really fast in a straightline but when it comes down to the handling, see how the M5 handles. Ohh.. n u gotta love the 7 speed SMG Drivelogic II gearbox. Did i mention that the M5 also comes with a heads up display ? ...

What I don't like about it is all the techno barble they stuff into the car which is basically some engineers wet dream. You don't need all that stuff. You want the car for the drive and performance. The end. Chuck out all the unnecessary crap which adds weight anyway.

Anyway, supercharging and bi-turbo is Mercedes' way to generate power. NA is BMW's choice. Different means to the same end. I'm getting a bit tired of people using NA as an excuse to put one engine over another, especially force fed ones. Plus, BMW doesn't have it all to themselves when it comes to NA engines. The Gallardo also has a 5 litre V10 producing 500bhp and this engine doesn't sound like a diesel on idle.

Then there is the gearbox. 7? Why? Cause F1 cars have them? Even the Enzo didn't have that many. Just too many choices.

It's like the engineers tried to shoehorn everything they had in the BMW parts bin into the car. They just wanted more of everything. That's good, if you like to brag about on paper specs all the time and if you like to play "My dick is bigger than your dick" with your rich mates.

Well Silverfish, if you understood wat the techo barble is all about , then maybe u'd appreciate it. No denying that weight reduction is one of the best ways of increasing performance, like what Lotus does. But the idea to this is a car thats practical to drive daily, thats friendly and yet comfortable when goin real fast. Tats wat even the Bentley Flying Spur has achieved. This again comes down to certain people who's not so hard core who wants all out performance. If they wanted tat ,they would've gone n taken a skyline for its fantastic drive dynamics.Well, i never compared it to the Gallardo in the first place. I'm aware of other car makers who can achieve 100bhp per litre. Even Honda does it. I was merely comparing it the Merc E55 AMG, which is a fair benchmark. And anyway, a M5 doesn't sound like a diesel on idle. Tat would be the 530d. Cheers dude...

Which part of it don't you think I understand? I don't appreciate the fact that they made everything deliberately complicated.

The Bentley is in a different class altogether.

I mentioned the Gallardo because I'm a bit bored of people creaming their pants over the M5's engine like it is such a monumental achievement.

The E55 is a fair comparison. So I think that makes the CLS55 which is based on the E55 a rather good one as well. And the M5 is only slightly faster than the CLS55.

And yes it does sound like a diesel on idle. A lot of people have mentioned about this trait of the engine.

Well, honestly Silverfish, it doesn't coz i've been next to the thing. n i sincerely would say it does not sound like a diesel... Go listen to the 530d n the M5 next to each other n then tell me if it sounds the same.

Oh yea, about being faster, well lots of cars are faster than the M5 but the way how the car handles, again i would emphasise its dynamics here,... its built to handle not made all out to go fast in a straight line.

Oh....a 1.8ton (without driver and petrol) car is supposed to handle good.
my landrover should handle decently then...

IMHO, the only bmw that ever handled good was the E30 M3. (No offence to beemer owners)
The E46 M3 CSL should be good as well, but I havent driven it before.
