We can finally lay our eyes on official shots of the all-new Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 that has been revealed at the Geneva Motor Show that has been followed by some solid and official figures to put our minds at ease.
It weighs in at a scant 1,575kg courtesy of the carbon fiber-reinforced polymer monocoque structure that on its own is just 147.5kg. In fact, the whole body in white of the Aventador tips the scales at just 229.5kg.
It’s no secret that power will come from a new 6.5-liter V12 pushing out just a smidgen under 700hp at 690hp together with 690Nm of torque to lug that anorexic body around. Power is transferred to all four wheels via a Haldex all-wheel drive system through a seven-speed independent shift rod transmission with dual synchronisers that is supplied by Graziano Transmissioni. While it still utilises a single clutch but with two transfer shafts that allows it to function similar to a dual-clutch setup, shifting times show no discrepancies at 50-miliseconds.
With all that power and gear under the skin, the Aventador does the century sprint in 2.9-seconds and tops out at 350km/h.
Customers that have already plonked down some cash for the Aventador can estimate a delivery time somewhere in the middle or third quarter of the year.
For now, we can just drool over the Aventador and imagine the orgasms we’ll have behind the wheel of it.
