How to tell Evo 4/5/6 AYC Malfunction?

Hi Evo's Sifu's,
here is a common question again posted again & again and hope this round i could get newer advise on how to tell an AYC malfunction or function without refering to the AYC check light on the meter?

Any other ways to tell beside refering to the meter AYC check light or looking for any uncommon sound from the AYC?

Would appreciate someone who could shed some information over here...
