That will depends on the wife. Just heard from a friend looking for a SUV, trading in 2005 city. Saw one CRV even brought mechanic to check say pretty good condition but year 2005 also, straight away wife say sell 2005 buy 2005 too old, don't want. Then go see X Trail 2009 I think, she say okay but I heard condition not as good as the CRV......hhahhahahhahah:biggrin:
Hmm ... if you are selling a 2005 City and get another 2005 CRV, its different car, but serves almost the same purpose. Travelling from point A to point B, then i think even the wife would disagree. If you sell a 2005 City and get a 2005 BMW, hands down the wife would not complain. Its consider an upgrade to a better brand. Brand names matter here, after that, condition of the car follows. Just speaking from experience dealing with customers who knows how to value things. I'm really grateful that throughout my career, my assigned customers are really "know the value" type, you get what you paid for, not that always asking for discounts and expecting high quality products. LOL.

Well, this differs from person to person. My sis in law brother who drove a Mercedes once, was robbed of it, thereafter he never bought any luxury car anymore and kept to Jap cars all these while....:smokin:

Mercedes to me, is freaking overated, my family happens to own 4 Mercedes throughout the years, 3 of them were very problematic except for 1 model, 1987, 190E. The rest of it, given my dad enough headaches till he gave up on the brand and went to Japs. As you can see, i never enlisted Mercedes to my choices due to past experiences.

Hehehehe may be i am biased , i just like BMW ! 190E is the best Mercedes i have ever driven. I remembered the first week i got my license, i took this beast to Sprint highway with my buddy. I'm blasting on the highways at 240 km/h ! Crazy days ! My buddy scared shitless, till he dare not to ride with me for couple of days. LOL ...

The W124 300E/300CE/E320 is also one of best cars of Mercs.

Sure can reach real 240kph?? Must be the 2.3ltr version ya.

2.3ltr.... the.... fancy cosworth?
Not sure mate, but my dad's 190E has AMG bodykits and the engine is quite torque even with 4 speed auto. It has an eco or power mode from the factory. The car isn't stock at all, bought over in cash and my dad customise only the sound systems with all Rockford speakers and 2 unknown amplifiers. Up until now i still don't know the brands of amplifiers, i am too young to know that time and my interest in cars are only JDM, despise Euro cars. Now i am kinda like both of them, except Korean

I remember 190E is 2.3L, imagine those days already hitting 240kph.....:driver:
Yay mate ! Not many cars can go head to head with the 190E ! A lot other drivers with their Altis or Civic 7th gen tend to look down my 190E when i was in Lim Kok Wing. That i taught a good lesson in a simple drag race, that time Cyberjaya is very empty and road is very twisty and virtually free of cars. Too few population there.

All my dad told me is:" Son this car has over 2 litre capacity, don't fuck it up" After 2 years of driving that car, i lost control during rainy day at Subang area, luckily damage is not severe with only the engine oil filter being knocked off, still have no idea how its being knocked off ...

Not necessarily, there's the normal 2.3ltr version that came with AT. The Cosworth Evo version had over 220HP with only manual gearbox and could reach 250kph.

Then must be the 2.3ltr version with about 160hp which was indeed very fast for its time back then. The lower 1.9 or 2.0 version could not reach such high speeds, just about 200-210kph only. Aside from that car, you'd need the W124 300E with 188HP to be able to reach such high speeds.

To be frank, the standstill acceleration is not that amazing, but is the rolling acceleration that the 190E really shines. The car was sold to the family friend, may be one day i go and check it out its engine bay and share with you guys here.
