I can tell that in you mind now...almost 70% is full of sylphy already..

But I do not understand why you need such a large leg room for the read seats. May I know how tall are you? Not to say that i dont give a damn for the rear seat leg rooms when choosing a car but not to that extend  You mentioned that when you pushed back the driving seat there would be almost no leg room, in some models discussed.

To me, lets take inspira and Altis as an example. The rear leg rooms are ok to me..still comfortable. I am 172cm tall and 67kg, size of an average person I believe? Of course when I sit in a Cefiro, I feel more comfortable. But merely for only few secs then I forget how big is the gap between my knees and the seat in front. Unless I sit in a kancil, then I feel tight...but for short distance it doesnt really bother me as well. Unless put me in there and drive to outstation. The point is, how often do you carry more than 1 passenger at the rear. If it is very often, for example you often bring you parents out in your car and want them to be very vey comfortable, then you have your point. If it is not...i think no need so hardcore bah.

Slyphy doesnt has ISOFIX? It is now an important feature...safety to your children...and will you consider Nissan Grand Livina? My boss is driving one and he is happy with it. He has 2 children and usually his wife will be at the middle row taking care of the children (occupy the whole row coz need more space), while his parents can occupy the front passenger and most rear passenger seat.
I'm only slightly taller than you but I'm bigger than you. I think my body proportions is a bit off, longer legs, shorter body. So to me I need and want the rear legroom. Besides, these cars are all cruisers in their own right so I'll most likely want to take the car long distance. It'll have to fit 2 child seats and comfortably sit my wife too. Sylphy doesn't have ISOFIX unfortunately.

I've been driving around the Grand Ribena 1.8 for 2 days now. I must say with the nappa leather interior and the freaking cold aircon it's quite a nice car. I've been driving around with a combined passanger weight of nearly 400kg 2 days in a row and it's doing quite well within the city. But overtaking with that much weight even for a 1.8 was kinda bad. The rear 3rd bench seats are for squatting so I don't know how you fit an adult at the back. I for one didn't fit in it and squatting was so awkward. I almost started to like the car. Almost. Zero-feel super light steering is very useful for my wife to drive with but for me it's just weird how easy it is to drive around town with one finger on the wheel.

I'll have to seriously consider the Grand Ribena in my list. It's not bad with the impul body kit and it's within my price range.

izso need a comfortable rear seats cos he wants to put his kid in the front passenger seat while his wife drives the car
& he sits behind like a boss...hehe...
 Like a bawse!

I like how you think. Hehehehehe

Is true that the Syphilis leg room is bigger but then, how many passengers have such big legs that needed that much space?
Unless the front passengers are real tall that they need to push the seats further back.

Other than that, standard position and height of the front driver and passengers, the rear seat leg room is sufficient and comfortable enough.

No need think too much already bro, I still think Altis is the car for u and suits ur criteria more :top:
No la. I drive with the seat quite far back. In the Syphillis even with the driver seat like that the rear passanger can completely stretch their legs straight outwards. It's ridiculously comfortable. Who doesn't want more comfort if it's offered to you right?

I haven't really checked out the Altis, will do so sometime this month.

Yup, agree with Ixeo to sell the Myvi, selling the Hero won't get you much at all by looking
at the market rate for 2nd hand Heroes...

From Hero to Zero....:frown:
Damn. I never thought of it that way. I just got an offer from someone to buy my hero for 15k. That's quite a decent price! Decisions decisions.

Trade-in for the Myvi is 20k

When u check out the Altis, I wanna tag along  I havent really did went and see
those new generations Altis. But the one I currently have, I just love it till today even it
is already 7 years old.

Grand Ribena, to me the looks are nice but i dont feel comfortable in those seats and when
it is full of passengers, I felt so crowded and felt like Im gonna suffocate...

Alza is even more comfortable than Ribena...

Wow...RM15K for your hero is a hell of a good price...really still remain as a Hero

Despite the age, RM15K for Hero and RM20K for Myvi, I think I would keep the Myvi
Just in case in future I would wanna trade in the Myvi, the price wont be that low either....

As for the Unsung Hero, this kinda offer is like once in a blue moon thing...

Tough decision, if plan to keep one of it, then Keeping the Hero would be better if
not much of a problem with that car since Myvi has the higher price and u hate it

I have a Grand Livina and yes Izso, you should consider this car if you're ok with MPV and don't care about power/performance. It's decent for an MPV, not as big as Exora, handles not bad as it's not that high like Avanza. Fuel consumption is pretty good, should be able to avg. around 12km/ltr combined, best can reach >13km/ltr.
Compared to Alza, I don't think Alza is more comfy. Alza 3rd seats are practically non-existent. Livina can still fit 2 smaller adults, I've carried 7 people many2 times, at one point going up Genting. But if you don't need rear seats then Alza is a decent choice since it's much cheaper anyway.
But Livina also has many weaknesses like below:
- Air con not that cold and don't have double blower. The evaporator also not good material, mine leaked after 3 mths use but then replaced new under warranty and already almost 2 yrs still ok.
- The rear seat folding mechanism is very unpractical.
- The std audio system is rubbish!
- Steering rubber bushing also seems weak. Mine already replaced once but under warranty. the steering initially feels very light but now after over 2yrs, it becomes a bit heavy.
- Stupid central lock which does not automatically locks the driver's door! Go figure!
- Like many current cars, no temperature meter.
- Lower segment of the rear lights is just fake, no bulbs & wiring so cannot light up! So cheapskate of Nissan!
- Like most FWD, it understeers and the tires are too skinny (only 185).

Some of the cars in the list not even RM90K...
Please check the correct car prices before conduct this survey...

WTF this survey /poll is bias towards VW with all the lousy competitiors on the list...

Why not input some brands with some competitive edge, there's lots of car that is around price range of RM100K...

This is not a a survey to compare which car is the best for RM100k..

Its just a survey to help Izso decide the best car for him...please note that...

OIC... its for izso...

So better get the VIOS J spec, Cheap less than RM70K
Fuel economical, low maintanance, good second hand, cheap spare parts and most of all you don't lose that much when the Goverment waive off the car duty by stage of 3 years till 0% duty.

When 2016 when you purchase 0% / NILL duty car, at least you already have head start of saving when you save now your RM30K of your RM100k to purchase a RM70K VIOS...

Huhahaha!!!

FOrget the VW or other continental car for now bro..... actually they only cost less than RM40K, goverment take RM60K of the purchase price of RM100K.

Better get some property for your investment dude!!!

Agree I rather get a Honda City than Vios, though never underestimate the manual Vios on pick up. Is real responsive.

Thanks! weird though, my friend has none of those problems. And I cant fit in the 3rd row without squatting. Alza *seems* slightly larger for the 3rd row. slightly.

Well probably now they've improved the quality. Mine was early 2011 batch. Before that there was even some reported fuel gauge problem (at least apparent in the batch sold in Indonesia), but mine is still ok.
Alza 3rd row is larger?? I thought it's smaller actually. But yeah, in Livina have to squat a bit cause the floor is a higher at the back, but my friends who often sat there were ok, but of course they're mostly not tall (<1.75 mtrs).
One more advantage of Livina is it can carry a lot of luggage, it really helped me big time when I was moving house. But of course not a big as Exora or Innova.
Oh ya just yesterday they fix the alarm which suddenly went quiet since 2 weeks ago. Again still free since under warranty. :)

My friends car is early 2012 so in terms of batch it shouldn't be too far off from yours. Boot space ah... aisay. I have an Unser at home. Everything is small compared to that car. Unfortunately it's being considered for sale though.

If you concern about the NVH, you might want to go for Sylphy. Really a powerful and silent cabin to begin with.
Yeah I know man. Still deciding. A lot of things to factor in apart from the car itself, loan amount, monthly budgeting, 5 years down the road what sort of $ will I be needing for my kids, personal business, etc. It's a big deal for me to change a car.

Like I said - I wish I was rich. Terus buy no need to think. Don't like, change! Fuh.

Good news too btw.. wifey has agreed to sell the MYVI  Hero stays!

No la. You compare all the other cars in the same category they pretty much have the same of everything. ABS, EBD, Traction control, boot space, 1.8/2.0 cruisers, comfortable seats, airbags (some 2, some 4, some 6) and almost all have their flaws.

The only real thing that sticks out is the incredible leg room in the Sylphillis. Damn the name.. kills the excitement. LOL
