Dear Sifus,

My car has been vandalised with spray paint dis morning. and its barely 1 month old!! :bawling:

I wonder if any sifus out here can advise on the correct method to remove the paint without respraying the whole car? it has never been waxed nor polished before, just the fresh coat of paint right out from the factory.

here's how it looks like:

please help!! thanks in advance...

Wow you offended anyone?

anyways, try compounding/polishing. Start with the least aggressive. But since it's all over, you might want to send to detailing shop? Or else you'll be tired if do without machine...

You can do compounding then polishing but need to use a rotary to be effective as your hand is not fast enough like a machine.

Those that did this really deserve to die. Simply go vandalize other people's property.

K3N,

patience i do have, but time is not on my side. i would rather send it ot a detailing shop for the guys to get rid of the major ones, while i'll handle d itsy-bitsy parts myself...

Veloc,

i'm the type that would rather stay away from a fight than start one. As can be seen from the above picture, i did not block any vehicles other than those in my own house. the car is parked as it is since i got home last nite until i woke up to go to work this morning. so this is a case of unprovoked vandalism... will report to police later and let justice runs it course.

but wat is done is done, i just wana concentrate on repairing the damages done. i will consider sending it to a detailing shop to have it done. thanks for the advice, bro. :adore:

s1tl,

thanks for the advice bro. i got it done on that evening already. dont want any delay as damage is harder to remove by the minutes.

muyo,

unfortunately, he is a so-called educated high-ranking banking official who stoop to such low heights to do such acts on young ppl like me. obviously being highly educated does not mean anything to him. ooh, bro muyo, r u a detailer too?

all,

thanks for all your valuable advices. i have collected my car last night n i must say the detailer did a very good job in recovering my car. what they did was compound + polishing the whole car to remove the top layer of paint and as a finale, they add on beading coat (was it called that?) to protect the remaining white paint. total damage is rm6xx which is believe is very worth the time and effort (they spent 10+hours on the car). now 98% of the car is free from the green paint, whilst d remaining 2% are hidden in nooks and crannies which are not so easily noticeable by eyes.

again, im really glad that all u brothers come over and render me your valuable advices. its great to have u guys around. :proud:

p/s: hope the bastard pee his pants later when the police comes around later in the evening. :proud: cheers!

Haha... Muyo is like a paint reviver... See his thread on detailing a camry . Oh by the way,

Dear sifus here, our friend here did the job for RM6xx! Is that the normal rate for detailing? How much is a full detail? I mean... I don't know because here at my place, normal soft waxing is charged at RM80 per car for normal sedan and cutting wax is charged at at RM160 for sedan. So I thought detailing is around that line but a little higher. Say RM300? Haha... Sorry for my noobness...

erm... d price might be a bit steep, but as explained by the detailer,

"the damage is so deep (the spray so kaw, until the proton logo oso barely visible) that we need to compund n polish for 5-6 times to totally remove all all the green paints. the polishing part will be rm4xx, add on another rm2xx for the coating (to protect the thinning layer of original white paint)... so total rm6xx. all these include free interior leather polish + 3 times free car wash... :fisheye:"

overall im very satisfied with the results, but as mentioned Veloc n pomenGTR, d prices might be lower (i duno... im noob in this too...)

p/s: i'd like to think my car has undergone a "rescue operation" rather than just plain detailing procedures, so that might have justified the high price. sifus, pls advice... =)

i guess this time you need to cover your car each time you go home! This time I think you need to be more alert when you see suspicious person walk near your car.

How did the police raid went? Let us know if the bugger got caught. It's best to park your car inside. I think using a cover but parking outside not much use also... The bugger can open the cover. And cover are known to give scratches to paint...

Dude,

If your renting then MOVE even after you polish they will be back to do it again. Fix the root of your problem before repaint.

In another hand its a good opportunity to go fade mat color.
Hahaha... That's one optimistic way to look at things!

hi Poolupwai
I had a similar incident like you...kena spray becoz i turn another side to park at Imbi market & I confronted a few Junkies who happen to be opposite the road & dare them to stood up for this action just over few ringgit illegal toting

drove back with disappointed but my body shop friend - taught me a life long valuable trick -

got some turpentine & just rub on to remove & rinse over with water

fews month down the road my neighbour van was sprayed like yr & i taught him to do like wise & got everything remove - hardly there is any stains

Reason - the paint has not fully cured aka DRY - so it can still be remove, never wax yr newly painted car as it takes about 3 months to get cured -

AVOID - thinner - cos it will thinnen yr clear coat

TIPS - must rinse off each section quickly

ACTION - must try

These people who 'do' other peoples cars are cowards. My friend who parked his car outside his own house also got red paint thrown at 2 of his cars. He said he did not offend anyone or borrowed money.

dear all,

no arrest was made, d polis juz come look see look see only... but then again, i did not implicate anyone in the report (the reason being is that should i wana "decorate" his car in the future, even if he made report also i wun be suspected, as there is no motive.. =) )

so that being said, i just wait for the time to come to decorate his car with the same paint as he did to mine...

just to recap: normally i would be parking inside the house. but then on that friday night, i came home late and found that my brother had parked inside. i was left with no choice but to park right in front of my gate as shown in the photo. i woke up on saturday morning to find such awful thing done to my ride. now i will park inside no matter wat.

2 week before that: i collected my car on saturday evening and parked in front of my house. the opposite neighbour came over to ask bout the car, chit cha, bla bla. the side neighbour (the culprit) was peeping from inside his house, acting very strangely. not to be outdone, he tried to drive his vios in out several times in that evening (for duno wat reason, he syiok sendiri park inside one minute, then park outside another minute), honking for duno wat reason (he say my car is blocking his, but in fact he managed to drive into his house in the 1st place? now he come out he cant reverse out?) he kept honking several times + showing that super dulan face at my mum and dad, yelling to get me to move my car. (i duno why he wana yell, my mum is just standing beside him, he could have just ASKED my mum to get me to move my car. so the whole neighbourhood now know wat an asshole he is by yelling at a lady) in the end, i moved my car as requested, apologised n forget bout the whole thing. until last week...

bro kc2,

turpentine works? gosh... i have thought of that but i dun have the heart to risk my paint on turpentine. so i just sent in to detailer with experience with this kinda thing. u know, when ur beloved ride kena abused like dat, heart n mind also blur, cant think straight... =(

thank god the car is restored.

bro muyo,

haha, i would like to do that to his f*cking face too...

---------- Post added at 10:22 PM ---------- 6 hour anti-bump limit - Previous post was at 10:14 PM ----------

bro kevin,

i worked in a cctv company, now i've got a cctv installed in my car. that dude better think twice before doing atg to my car again.

bro mewhoyou,

that cant be done, im living with my parents (still). i'd be more careful in the future. let this be a lesson in not negligent to our rides...
come to think of it, matte green does look good on it eh?? XD

bro khellvinne, turbolover, skazareth,

those bastards shud rot in hell!! we are in the same boat... lets just be grateful the car is still drivable.. karma will come to them... imagine when they die, when they reached hell, their faces will be scratched with keys and their bodies sprayed with hot paint... serve them justice.. muahaha (watch too much movie... =p)

Bro...

Don't la... What goes around comes around. If he is not your neighbour, nevermind. Can do. But since he is your neighbour, sure he will suspect its you. Then He will do back to you. You both will be in the cycle of revenge. Just let it go. For your car's safety. He will have his day one day! :burnout:
