Dear ZTHians & 20valvers,

I need advice on swapping AE101 silvertop auto gearbox with AE111 blacktop 6spd manual..

Recently, i found a new friend who agreed to change his gearbox(GB) with me..

the problem is he owns a blacktop(BT) & mine is silvertop(SVT)..

last time i check with my mechanic, for my SVT.. there's no prob to put in a 6spd GB.. juz get the BT wiring & computer box.. and a manual meter.. right?

the problem is with the BT.. to put in auto GB got a few issues right?

anyone done this before?

:hmmmm:

IMHO, that blacktop need an auto ecu in order to operate auto gearbox.
Correct me if I'm wrong.

You're right. BT can't use SVT ecu unless you swap wjole wiring.
Hehehe....
It need BT auto ecu

So let me get it right, you plan to convert SVT AT to SVT 6spd? Ok, u just need the 6spd box, shifter&cable, center console, clutch&brake pedal. U can still use SVT AT ECU if you want to retain the AFM, just need to "trick" the SVT AT ECU to think that you're not on "N or P" all the time. Or you can look for SVT MT ECU or Tom's version if you prefer :P
No need to change the entire wiring.

As for BT 6spd converting to SVT AT box, he would have to look for a BT AT ECU... and of coz AT shifter&cable, center console and brake pedal. Also, the BT doesn't require any wiring as using BT AT ECU is just plug&play.

FYI, BT AT ECU and SVT MT ECU aren't that expensive compared to BT MT ECU. Or you can also consult with our ECU Specialist to see if you can trade ur ECUs with him =)

Sorry bro pcmod for interrupt. SVT AT wiring can't match with SVT MT ecu socket. There is a different at one socket which AT use 26,16,22 pin while MT use 26,16,12 pin. For BT it's the same pin for both MT and AT.

Unless you mod the socket from 22 to 12 pin to use SVT MT ECU.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

The thing is.. this swap includes 2 cars & we doesn't want any extra spareparts.. to reduce cost ..

definitely the wiring has to be swap as well. MT -> AT ECU socket has a different. don't forget to swap the ignition/key as well, coz AT has a safety feature to prevent engine start while the gear is not at P position (but not really need - just for safety purpose)

1st, have to change the engine wiring, better if change also the dashboard wiring (coz of the pwr and manu button)
2nd, ur svt gearbox dunno which batch, for 1st batch cant use with 2nd batch wiring set, coz different
