the weakness lies at the bearings at each gear ratio. it tends to crack when being used hard (e.g-trackday).

ma fren blew his 6speed gbox when doin his trackday in sepang.
then...changed all d gearatio bearing to stronger one (dunno wat brand...but custom made in thailand)

then go sepang test again...no prob :)

sold off a 6speeder gbox last 2 months for 2k.

what about OS Giken gear set from Japan or PPG gearset from Aus?

a bit cheaper than straight cut dog box and more driveable on the street

but i guess if youre going hardcore, HKS box is the go.

seems like u're in need of 6 speed very much....if u're on budget, forget about 6 speed from s15, as they said, it's too weak (last i heard was the 4th gear always break, can't remember)

btw, if u're on budget, dont think you'll wana spend so much on aftermarket gearbox when u can spend the money on other mods.

some dude in nissansilvia.com mentioned this similar question, the other dude suggested rb26dett 6 speed in his s13....then you'll hav the 1st 4wd silvia in malaysia, hehehe

how much is a rb26dett 6-speed??

and can it be used as a rwd gearbox??

err...you can unplug the fuse to disable 4wd but a with the front diff, it'll make ur car really heavy...i'm not sure whether u can take out the diff and make it a pure rwd gearbox

having said that, i dont think it's worth the time and money to put in rb26 gearbox...hav u thought of 6 speed from 2jz? they r strong....u'll might need to modify the gearbox tunnel though
