PETALING JAYA, Thurs:
Police will offer special discounts on traffic related summons at the Curve shopping complex in Bandar Utama here on Saturday.
All traffic summons from any where in the country can be paid at the police traffic summons payment counter located at the complex basement.
Petaling Jaya deputy police chief Superintendent Mohamad Shukor Sulong said the counter will open at 10am and close at 9pm.
The discounts are applicable only tomorrow in conjunction with the launch of the district police traffic summons payment counter and Rakancop.
However, traffic offences related with Ops Sikap, warrant of arrest, beating traffic light, not compoundable summons and traffic accidents are not entitled for this discount.
“It will be convenient for the residents nearby to settle their summons here instead of going to the Petaling Jaya police headquarter to do so.”
At the same time, resident can register as members of Rakancop so they that can channel any crime related information in the area to the police.
Mohamad said such information will assist police to act immediately to prevent crime.
At the launch, there will be various performances including from the band, martial arts groups, traffic police and the horse unit. The show is from 2pm to 5pm.
Selangor police chief Datuk Khalid Abu Bakar is scheduled to arrive at the complex at 4.30pm to officiate the ceremony. He will be leading a convoy of big bikes to the complex from Shah Alam.
