DeaconFrost what is your point?
My point is the law sees that:
1. duty of the organizer to see that the course was as free from danger as reasonable care and skill could make it;
2. the organizer were not insurers against accidents which no reasonable diligence could foresee;
3. the organizer were not insurers against dangers inherent in a sport which any reasonable spectator can foresee and of which he (spectator) takes the risk.

These are the points of law untainted by sentiments.

sometimes the Driver should be a little smarter...
if he know the condition at that time may interrupt/harm him or the others, he should complain to Organizer...
oil spilt, unsafe track condition, "unlistened" crowd, he shouldn't start the race...even for trial.
but then, if Organizer still proceed with the race/trial, and something bad happen, then Organizer must take the responsibility. no one else to blame. u fail to clean the oil, fail to tame the crowd.

this accident happens because we doesn't have a proper place to drag race..

and i repeat a PROPER PLACE..

Circuit in sepang is an example of a proper place..

but most of us petrolheads can't afford such a high entry fee..

so, the organiser should push the gov to make an affordable track for the rakyat..

preferably in klang valley..

Speed city is a good example.. but it only caters for drifting..

we need a Drag Race Track

I'm keeping prays for the victims wellness and their family.I followed MUSC for the 1st round at Muar.I think the best event for the beginner like me.For my 2 cents opinion why not organiser starts event with open category + turbo open at noon and k-car or 1.6cc na at night becauce this kinds of car need more grip from tyres.I think at noon should be more grip than night.Only my 2 cents opinion....

Cheers

very simple to control crowd...setup barriers/barricades (fixed type like cycling events)...if the crowd pass this points ...do not let the cars run...use PA system to inform the crowd the race will only resume if they follow instructions.

Drivers are aware of the risk(Motorsports is Dangerous) but you cannot in any situation put the spectators at risk.

Of course, while spectating a live event, it is much more exhilarating if one could have the opportunity to be up-close to it, especially for motoring-related events. Being close to the roaring engines and screeching tires gives the satisfaction and adrenaline rush, making the experience more valuable and memorable. But upon all those, one should always prioritize on their own safety during attending such events because motorsports will always be dangerous, and one could not foresee when things are about to go wrong, like what happened last weekend.

2012 Drag battle crash @ Putrajaya - YouTube

17 spectators were reported injured; three in serious condition when one of the participating cars in a drag race held in conjunction with the Million Youths Rally 2012 skidded and went off course. The tragedy occurred somewhere around midnight on Saturday at the Wadi Ehsan Highway in Presint 19, Putrajaya.

<a href="http://www.zerotohundred.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/drag7.jpg"><img src="http://www.zerotohundred.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/drag7.jpg" alt="" width="600" height="450" /></a>

Among those in critical condition, two were still warded in the intensive care unit and one had to undergo an operation at Putrajaya Hospital. The driver meanwhile escaped the crash unscathed.

<a href="http://www.zerotohundred.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/drag5.jpg"><img src="http://www.zerotohundred.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/drag5.jpg" alt="" width="404" height="500" /></a>

<a href="http://www.zerotohundred.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/drag2.jpg"><img src="http://www.zerotohundred.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/drag2.jpg" alt="" width="600" height="406" /></a>

The car, said to be a Mitsubishi Lancer Turbo, was among the participants in the drag race making a trial run before the actual race took place. And it was on this trial run that the car suddenly lost control and swerved to the right, going over the curb before hitting the sea of people standing right beside the makeshift drag strip.

<a href="http://www.zerotohundred.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/drag4.jpg"><img src="http://www.zerotohundred.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/drag4.jpg" alt="" width="600" height="411" /></a>

Although the race was arranged by experienced organizers, there was no sanctioning body to monitor and supervise the motorized events held during the rally, said the Youth and Sports Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Shabery Cheek.

<a href="http://www.zerotohundred.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/drag3.jpg"><img src="http://www.zerotohundred.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/drag3.jpg" alt="" width="600" height="402" /></a>

This statement is backed-up by the response of the Chairman of AAM, Y.M Tunku Datuk Mudzaffar Bin Tunku Mustapha himself, saying that all the motorsports-related events held in conjunction during the rally were not sanctioned by either the AAM or organized by any party affiliated to the AAM.

The organizers said that they had already warned the spectators to stay out of the prohibited area during the race, but the warning went unheeded when the event started and saw about 10,000 spectators lined up beside the drag strip.

Judging from the organizer's statement, doesn't seem very professional. Talk more like a gangster, I'm not surprised shit happened.

bro, this is not the way to respond to public after incident happen.
from what written here, Main - Side Views - Drag racing ?monkeys? ? Qiu Yaofeng @ Wed May 30 2012

im sad to say u have to grow up alil bit. nothing good happens out of cabar-ing everyone and being all big gangster here and there with vulgarity.

this totally tarnish the name of motorsports bro. although u are protecting or being protective of your drivers n your side, but what do u think others will have in mind after reading your statement?

just my 2cents comment bro. hope u take all our feedback and comments constructively.
