I was sending my dad to the airport last night and I gotta say I was smiling the whole way back home. I didn't really look at the speedo and I was cruising so I thought I was like doing 140. Boy was I wrong, I was cruising at 180 most of the time!

Just hoping that I won't get any love letter from PDRM haha
Saw one the other day on the road. Noticed the 5 series facelift rear looks beautiful.

I'm afraid puting a layer of cheap tint on the vkool will ruin the vkool... I think I'm just gonna buy those Groovy sunshades.
Have to be careful as one of my club member was issued a summon for that. Some people say ok, but all depends on the police officer......lol:rofl:

Yes kinda like rubber band but what annoys me the most is when you're sitting in traffic and then when it's already time to move, you apply little throttle but it's not moving. You go deeper then it'll surges forward. Then sometimes when I apply little input, it'll surges forward. Wtf man it's just infuriating.:banghead:
I think it depends on the car. My ex-Sylphy didn't do that. It was rubber band-ish for the first 500rpms then smooth sailing after that. And if you wanna crawl just brake-off and it'll crawl.

But the FK8R won't have any VTEC thrill too man...
Oh ya.. turbo. I forgot. But hey.. TURBOOOOOO

A45 is also turbo leh, so yeah A45 anytime any day over the Type R.
It's a matter of taste. I prefer A45 too cos it comes with luxury, comfort and performance. Not too hardcore but fits for old man like me. My personal opinion for the new Type-R, it geared towards enthusiast hardcore drivers who purely put driving experience as first priority. :)

"Mature men" don't drive A-series :P

Go straight to E and preferably the AMG E65.. hehehe
haha then I'm not mature enough by your standard. :P

Anyway, E-class just doesn't work for me. Not sure why. I like the C and S but not E sedan. However, the E-wagon is nice though.

I prefer the A45 because it's simply the better car, faster, AWD, much better looking and classier, more prestigious (it's an AMG man!), but certainly not because more mature! The only good thing about the Civic Type R is the manual gearbox, that's it!

Comfort is not something that goes along with the A/CLA Class. One of the most jarring ride I've ever driven in, especially the 45AMG.

A45 AMG is not meant for comfort to begin with. I think though it can be improved a bit by downgrading the rim/tire size from 19' to 18' as for the base spec A45. If not mistaken the later version (with 380HP) got some improvement in this area too. Tom should be able to provide more comment on that as I believe he had tested them all.

I've driven the A200 Elegance (pre facelift and facelifted), A250 with the Sport suspension (facelifted) and an A45AMG (pre facelift).
The A200 pre facelift was rather harsh but then the facelifted was still the same tho better control overall. However the A250 with Sport suspension is worse but of course it's still better than the AMG.
Kinda disappointed that Mercedes didn't actually make it more comfy (AMG) since the other AMG across the range are comfy as hell when they're not on Sport/AMG mode. I kinda expected it to be more.

I have never driven one before and do not plan for any test drive either. At least not until I am ready to buy that car. I do not want to get into a situation where I am dreaming about it day and night. If I get it now, I am forced to scarify my other interest which I am not ready to give up yet!

I feel the opposite. I think the new 5 series is more "pondan" compared immediate predecessor in the rear. The old one looks thicker..more... manly whereas the new one looks sleeker, more aero feel to it..

But diff people will feel differently with design.

CLA45 over the A45. I think the A hatch just looks odd. And ugly next to the BMW 1 hatch.

Actually you SHOULD go for a test drive. That way, when you have a strong desire to get it, it will motivate you to work harder/think of ways to achieve it.

That's the same reason why I don't want to test now. I'll do that when I am ready for the car. Don't like to keep lingering on it. hehehee

Ya CLA45 looks better but more expensive too and just a tad heavier car.

Well I'm the opposite, I like the A class shape much better than the BMW 1 series! I just don't like the 1 series shape at all coz it's too much like a boxy short wagon shape. I like a hatch shape which have a smoother transition line from the engine hood, the windscreen, then to the roof from the side profile, not too much like 'a stair case step' or boxy looking as in the 1 series. The shape of the rear pillar of the 1 series also I don't like.
