World Champion Kimi Raikkonen To Retire Next Year?

Reigning world champion and Ferrari ace Kimi Raikkonen has refused to deny reports he is considering retiring at the end of 2009.

His suggestion has further fuelled speculation that Fernando Alonso has already agreed to race for Ferrari in 2010, it was also rumoured last week that Kimi might not sign another contract with Ferrari beyond 2009.

Raikkonen, 28, confirmed in a news conference in Montreal on Thursday that he has not decided what he is going to do beyond next year.

“I don’t know what is going to happen, I haven’t made my mind up,” the Finn said. “Maybe I will make my decision this year.”

A source close to Kimi has also revealed that the world champion ‘loves the driving and hates everything else about Formula One.”

Kimi said in Canada, “I wouldn’t stop if I felt I would miss it afterwards. For sure I would find something else to do and maybe I would enjoy that more.”

“When there are too many thing you don’t enjoy it is time to go away.”

yeah, of course it's not enjoyable being whacked from behind in the pit lane..! hehe.. moreover, with other teams and drivers coming up, and without an infamous driver in Schumacher to keep Ferrari hyped up like before, it's really a tough time to be racing with Ferrari now..
