This is a clip of the SSC Ultimate Aero's official record run in the state of Washington. On September 13, 2007, SSC managed 257.41 mph (414.31 km/hr) in its first run. During the second run, it topped out at 254.88 mph (410.24 km/hr). An average of 256.19 mph (412.28 km/hr) from both runs has made the SSC Ultimate Aero the official fastest production car in the world, recorded by Guiness Books of World Records.
On October 9, 2007, The Guinness Book of World Records officially recorded the SSC Ultimate Aero as the fastest production car with a top speed of 256.19 mph (412.28 kph).
Because of the "S" bends and uneven pavement from the highway, the driver of the Ultimate Aero, 71 years old Chuck Bigelow, says that there was a lot more pedal to push. SSC will send an Ultimate Aero to Europe to test its true top speed on one of Germany's ultra-smooth test tracks.

2. Bugatti Veyron (253.4 mph) unofficial

The SSC Ultimate Aero also holds Road and Track's slalom record, previously held by the Ferrari Enzo.
