im driving a 1.3 na car with k&n open pod air filter n used to drive long distance without stopping,no overheating problem but the engine very hot obviously!!! but if i put in oil cooler will it help since the petrol consumption for wira aero 1.3 is quite lot when driving fast compare to 1.3 iswara??

pls help!!!!

tq

it is not about oil cooler...it is about your engine ventilation...u can jack ur bonnet for a better ventilation...just my 1/2 cent...

i personally think an oil cooler is not necessary in your particular application.

why do you say your engine is very hot? the temp gauge? long distance driving, unless you rev hard and kaw kaw and redline all the time, the temp should be rock steady...

adding an oil cooler will not harm in any way, but i just dont see you need it. it also lengthens the time for the oil to get to operating temp. your car is totally stock and i would assume stock compression ratio.

if your's a turbo car, then that would be a different story.

what u can do is use a good quality coolant/distilled water, make sure your oil pump is in good condition, use a heat shield for your open pod if you dont have, and try to use the hoses to channel cold air into your engine bay. these alone would be more than enough i think.

oil cooler doesnt seem like help u.....put CAI la if ur engine bay is hot....as long as ur air filter can suck cold air is enuf....
