Dear All,

To vwmania & nefrideum, looking for dropped spindles aye? LALALALALALA....tak yah carik jauh2.

Everyone, when you're lowering the ride on your Beetle, you have a number of methods to adapt to your needs.

1 - Affix beam-adjusters to your front axle-beam, and have your mechanic adjust the rear splines. Cost Factor - RM 400 - 800

2 - Affix dropped spindles to the front beam setup, and adjust rear splines. The best way to achieve a near perfect and ultra-smooth ride. Cost Factor - RM1k to get the dropped spindles (CB Performance, CIP), 30% tax, shipping and handling. Labour to affix it - RM 300 -450.

3 - Buy three bags of cement, and seal properly in watertight cladding. Put two bags in your bonnet, and the third on your rear seat/bench. Cost Factor - RM45. Delight Factor - Who said you need lotsa money to bring a smile to your face??? . Laughable Factor - Orang takde keje je buat camnie...mcm aku masa mula2 beli keta dulu!!!

OKlah people....in the midst of translating an ancient Sex Manual to English....sape nak boleh PM aku for further details!!!

herm..tried no.3..looks is good but with the current setup, it feels like dragging a bull with my bug..

btw, i feel like my bug has become senget sebelah..i realise it long time ago but then not so obvious like now (mainly in front)..any ideas or suggestion..my dad said the plate in the front axle patah already..

i would go for no.3 hahahaha...cheap and effective...but no point la. kereta ponya speed macam naik basikal..

i saw a volks in PJ today, driven by an old uncle... it has an LED tail lamp...

LED tail lamp? My friend...it may well be the "New-Beetle lookalike" taillamp, available for awhile back for about RM400 from VW Concept and yours truly. LED taillamps are just too expensive and has never been an economical enough creation to attract VW owners, except for Golf's, Vento's or Passat's.

What do you reckon? Got any pictures? Was the taillamp raised or flat?

hmm....my opinion. vintage cars with new tech...not all new tech will look nice on vintage cars..from my point of view...maybe if there is a light with the original vintage look and inside got led...it may look nice...but it depends

it looks kinda 'out of place'... coz the rest of the car was still very 'vintage'.. i.e. ori chrome hub caps.. chromed side mirrors.. but the car looks SHOWROOM CONDITION!

If it is flat and smoked, it was one of those new-beetle lookalike taillamps that I was selling a while back. They cost RM400, and they look da bomb if you were to go for German or Euro Look.If it's fitted to a pre-68 model, arggghhhhhh.....it would look just ghastly!
