mike,

anytime.... but i haven't gotten the steering wheel and pedals yet for my PS2 yet... still using the joy-pad only.

eoj

PS2's version of the nurburgRING... !!!!! hahahahaha

Met Hadaki and his cabrio at the track yesterday. Only managed to do 1 1/2 sessions, oil leaking from somewhere and oil temp went as high as 148C during my first run.

Was there a Mk1 there too? I saw a blue Mk1 tailgating the Lotus Elises on the way back to KL!!!!

Here is a pic of the "track prepped" ride :

Kooka your car still has the original colour. Looks great Hope to meet you soon some day..

Yes, it's still original colour for now. Most of the stuff still original, except the OMP steering and the rims. Still considering whether to repaint or go for a good polishing job. That will be on hold until i sort out the suspension, which is too soft!!!

Wow 148C you could have cook your engine mate not advisable to drive when the temp hit pass 140C......u need an external oil cooler mate

just wish I was there a give Julia a run just that the timing was not good for me. Hadaki had a good time just that his tyres were cooked by the second lap.

Yes, as soon as I saw 148C I slowed down and went into the pits. My tyres were fine though. There is an oil cooler in the golf, no?

Kooka

The ori water to oil cooler is useless in our climate!! The water is a aready very hot I have an adapter with an external oil cooler fom an evo/pajero and it lowered my oil temp by 10-15C!!

kooka .... external oil cooler is a must in my opinion. It cooled my engine a lot. Is this the only time the temp went up so high??? It could be a faulty oil temp sensor..

Yah an oil cooler is a must to a track car and I am gona do it for my rado a well to lower the under bonnet temp.

My Golf is sick, got some metallic sound, as well as the oil leak. Looks like I need to take a slow drive to Tj Malim........seems the car is not taking too well to track action. Mike, may abandon the coilover project if I get a trackable car. Then the golf will just for fast road use, lovely on the trunk roads.

Kooka Metalic sound is not good mate so 9A might be the route yah....It looks like Sepang is a Golf engine killer :baring_teeth:. I better not try until getting the neuspeed oil sump!!!
