eoj, 4-door sike skirt can fit on you 2-door GTi? Did the GTi Mk1 come in 4-door version? I am still waiting for the owner of the 2-door Mk1 LHD to call me (since like mid-2005, so doubt he will ever call!).

same lenght.... i think. the car is a GLi with MkII dash and auto box... not a GTi. i'm hoping the owner will let me "celup" his front spoiler.

Thanks for the offer. I won't be going down the Koni route. Will be either Titan / HWL (cheapo route) or DMS (strike lottery route) :p

Meantime, I will trying out Wira springs (beggars route) before I decide what to do with the suspension :p

H2zero- vibratechnics woul be engine mountings the bonrath that v used were 4 the suspension. I manage to break all 3 mountings:angry_smile: on my 1st run on the last SS0. Running wit no mounting on my 2nd run!!! So i getting d front one upgraded first. BTw still running the bonrath wishbone poly bushes:_:

Kookabura-I also wanna change 2 d coilover route but need to take beggar route as welllah so Koni top rear adjustable is d the way to go. the existing Konis in the MK2 could go into the rado then.

yep pick rado up aleady, sold my mk3 VR, thee koni rear TA is the beggar route would have loved the coiloverlah at RM4-6K koni will be around RM500.

vibratechnics fast road series is rubber bonded so its not harsh, metal and poly onesss is not road friendly at all more fo track cars.

? is your mk2 still with phan?

NO my ride is at home under shade I expect.... i didn't know koni were so cheap. It cost HKD8,000.00 here for a complete set. Mike in future if you are ordering any parts let me know may want to stock up some things to redo my car... tahnks

Mk 1 golf Gti... the "ONLY" Gti as far as im concern...

Hi all

I used to own 3 golf Gti Mk 1's: 1981 1.6, 1983 1.8 and a 1992 Cabriolet...

Altho i've driven & owned cars from 7.0 liter cadillacs to Porsche 911s, nothing gives the same free revving, torquey feeling as the old Golf Mk 1... be it the 1.6 or the 1.8. I will never ever forget the Mk 1...

Sadly, I hardly see any on the road in klang valley anymore :( I hope u guys could help as im looking to buy another Mk 1. Anyone out there selling (or know someone who is selling) their Mk 1 would be greatly appreciated.

Just out of curiousity, what kinda price does a well taken cared Mk 1 go for in the market nowadays? Please contact me. Thanx

From the naked eye, and since I was sitting the Mk3 VR6, I would say the BMW is in front by about 3-4 car lengths. The VR6 had problem laying it's power down, no doubt LSD and better tyres (maybe 16" rims) would help!

Strange thing is, at 3rd gear, the BMW is not pulling away anymore.

you mean on acceleration the BMW managed to pull 2-3 cars length .... thats is good... Maybe one day I can see whats this all about..
