VOB to AVI conversion...

hey anyone know of any dvd rippers that can convert .vob files to .avi/vcd files? (best if it's fully licensed lahh...otherwise they only convert 1/3 of the file)

PC or MAC?

For PC u can try Ulead DVD movie factory or Cucusoft AVI to DVD converter.

As for the best compression codec..it depends where your output goes to..and also which software ure using..as these softwares have their own inbuilt codecs. of cos its best if u have pinacle systems or avid

Some of the prefered codecs are: 3ivX,
DivX 3 (SBC) and DivX5
