Today turn on my PC and thie message popped up.

"VIRUS ALERT
Norton Anti Virus has detected a virus on your computer
Object name : C:\windows\system32\htuixct.dll
Virus name : Backdoor.Coreflood
Action taken : Unable to repair this file"

So I went to Norton Antivirus to scan.

Then it says "Detected 3 infected virus file, repaired 2 files". "Unable to repair 3rd file, virus backdoor.coreflood"

THen it said "we suggest you quarantine the selected file". After clicking yes. it said "we suggest you delete the selected file" So I clicked yes.

Now I cant open the Excel, word, and some other programs. :(

Haiyo!! how to solve this problem? Pening -pening!!

best way, backup your files b4 they get infected(another hard disk or burn into CD), start with a clean hard disk and windows from stage 1. ;)

hehehe, how much is there to backup?

If core system files are infected, u cannot clean the virus even in safe mode.

There are 2 ways:

1. Scan HDD on a clean PC - u need to remove the HDD n mount it onto another PC.

2. Boot up from CDROM using ERD2002 - a bootable Windows XP that runs off a CDROM - best method! I used this method to get rid of stubborn spywares and worms. And it has GUI which makes it easy to troubleshoot n copy files.
