guys...

just wanna know the experience and pro's and con's using adjustable cam pulley
on standard valve spring and standard cam ( big v )....

what do u think??.....in long term does it will effect the standard valve since the engine is old already ( >200k mileage )....does it really feel the different or just
slight only....

I'm not sure if the same applies for B16A, but for B16B the adjustment of the standards cams can only adjust like half degree or something like that. To some tuners, the adjustment is so slight that the performance it gives, is not significant. Might as well spend the money on other things.

However, other tuners do use the cam pulley. Even though a slight adjustment is made, the difference in performance is there. They feel that it is significant enough.

I guess the only way to know... is to try it yourself. And see if you feel the difference.
 
i tot u will only notice any gains with adjustable on aftermart cams and not on stock ones?

unless u r using the type-r cams on normal b16a or b18c , then u will need adjustable cam pulleys. Else, using stock B16A/B18C cams with adjustable cam pulley will get you nothing.
 
Mine was using the stock B16A cam and adjustable cam pulley and i can feel the different.... but it depend on how you set your cam pulley (pickup, mid or top speed)

If you wanna to do this, please check with profesional tuner
 
i agree..

it doesnt matter if youre using OEM or performance camshaft, as long as the cam setting is done correctly, u may feel the difference.

as for me, i only use STANDARD CAMPULLEY and it was set by my mechanic (but it took a mere 2 hours to set it since the standard pulley does not hav the adjuster hahaah) but seriously, there are differences.. especially when the vtek kicks in..

oh btw, anyone wants to do custom adjustable pulley + setting at a very cheap price :o kindly pm me or a friend of mine - HeHeH22A
