well, is been 2 weeks since i acquired the bimmer, things are going pretty well for me, nice car, agile and nice to cruise around( not the best to speed off at traffic lights). well thats good enough for me anyway

just one thing that bugged me on thursday, as usual, is never easy to get a car park in the hospital ground early in the morning but i found an excelllent spot outside my flat there, which is a side parking and no one could give you those nasty parking dings and dents! thought thing was going well then but it turned out the other way, my consultant was on call hence all clinical duties were exempted and i drove all the way there in the morning traffic just to see a patient! gosh.... decided to went home at lunch time and only noticed that ppl had just lawned the grass near where i parked my car and the whole driver side was covered with grass. never mind that, came home instead and only notice a small scratch on the rear bumber which measures probably 1 x 4 cm! oh dear me, i wanted to polished it off but i cant even i tried for many times. think it might have cause by those flying stone while lawning or perhaps by the fellow on purpose. :(

guess, sometimes when you paid too much attentions to ur car and yet you still get this kind of odd scratches from no where! sigh...

anyway, beside that, i founda website to get used/ new parts for BMW e46 in uk and they are selling a pair of used bmw ( ori) xenon headlights for 350 pounds.

i was quite tempted with some of the things they are offering now

1, xenon headlights for e46 coupe- 350 pounds
2, full bmw club sport front and rear bumper in cosmo black( same as mine) - 695 pounds
3, full m3 black leather interior with memory electric seats -995 pounds ( wow!)
4, full black electic memory sport leather interior- 825 pounds
5, 18inch mv 2 alloy with bridgestone tyres- 850 pounds

all claim to be original,

but i only ask about the xenon headlights and black leather interior. still waiting for the reply

hehee....

will polish the car tomorrow and perhaps post more pics in near future

hi guys,

after a few weeks of searching and researching, as i was about to abandon the idea of doing any modification to the car, ( as it is pretty pricey for me) i came across this set of 18 inch original radiel alloys from ebay.thought is well worth a look and i saw some early coupe with such alloys are actually pretty nice looking, and hence i went for it, made the deal with 150 pounds! hahah, pretty good deal right?

then i went to a local tyre store and got myself a part worn Pirelli P Zero for the front and Bridgestones Potenza for the back. ALL in all, cost me 350 pounds today for the set and i still have my original 16 inch cross spoke with me in the kitchen.

here are some pic i took just now with the new wheels on.

the beauty of living in the uk, cars are so god damn cheap. do you ever plan to ship the bimmer back?

i am in Manchester.

hmn.... not sure whether i am taking the car back or not as i will be working for a good number of years before heading home, i guess by that time, the car will worth nothing much than 2 k.

we shall see...:)

anyway, cars are indeed cheap over here but maintainence is a bomb!

for instance: student like me getting a bimmer, living in the city, expect to pay thousands of pounds for insurance a year! that enough is a killer, unless you have like fews NCB and boost your voluntary excess to 1000 pounds, you still end up paying thousand plus like me!

secondly, petrol! 2 years ago when i first arrived here, petrol was about 60 plus pence a litre, now is a whopping 93 pence! a full tank is like 50 quid and thats equivalent to 350 ringgit. nothing happy about that man

thirdly is general use of vehicle. parking, fines, services and others

is not as cheap as you think it is. to me, cars are cheap here but hard to maintain and depreciation drops faster than anything!

back home, you pay for expensive cars, but you get cheaper fuels, servicing and others

thats my view in this....

you are in manchester...cheaper than me (I'm in zone 1 london)
