In a statement issued just moment ago, Lotus Racing has announced that it will no longer be making any more announcements regarding the Group Lotus vs Team Lotus issue.
The statement said that the Deputy Team Principal from Lotus Racing met with Proton adviser Tun Dr Mahathir, to discuss the matter in person with the former Malaysian Prime Minister.
According to LR, Tun Dr Mahathir has advised against making any further comments on the matter, and out of respect for the elder statesman, Lotus Racing will oblige and not discuss the matter any further. The meeting took place to discuss the matter in person and agree a future course of action for Lotus Racing.
Lotus Racing went on to state, "We are very grateful for having had the opportunity to put forth our case and have complete trust that a fair review will be made, and a decision on the matter will be announced in due course."
With the matter already taken to the English courts by the Tune Group, a judgment from the court will settle this issue once and for all. Unless both companies can agree to work together, which would be great for the brand and ultimately the road cars that come out of the factory, the Lotus brand will be divided between Proton and Team Lotus Ventures.
