what relation of the radiator cap to cooling down the water temp ?
A Radiator Cap can cause major overheating problems. Higher pressure cap can "capped" the boiling water circulating. Normally we use water + coolant, hence the boiling pressure is not that high.
But any value below 1.1 bar for high performance engine is a NO NO. Suggested Pressure Cap is 1.3 bar for track car, 1.5 for Drag.
i was thinkin more in line like a higher rated cap will put excess pressure on the radiator, increasing the chances of leakages. apparently thats not the case.
Radiator cap is like a pressure relief valve. Actually if u buy a high pressure cap, u are actually preventing liquid loss. But then again, your plumbing must be good in order to use these kind of caps.
