This is a special Car, only 1200 ever made. Stripped down to the shell and rebuilt from the ground up by Toyota Racing Development (TRD). Suspension pickup points and roof pillars strengthened, body seam welded. The six speed gearbox has a TRD helical LSD. The engine is modified, using lighter pistons, re-profiled camshafts, lighter valves and a lighter flywheel, pushing the 1800cc all alloy engine power to over *200ps/140lb ft (conservative TRD figure) Torque, with terrific throttle response, making this lightweight car surprisingly quick.
The suspension is TRD sportivo; shocks, springs, roll bars and bushes. The Interior is retrimmed with blue alcantra seats and door panels, A sports SRS steering wheel, TRD Quickshifter and TRD instruments are installed with 240kph clock, TRD 17" wheels are installed with trd cat back exhaust.

TRD 2ZZ-GE engine parts technical explanation

http://www.celicasg.com/technicals/2zzge/engine-2zz-2.jpg

On May 2003 a lot of 2ZZ-GE drivers came to install TRD performance parts in TRD direct shop Tama (Tokyo Hachiozi city high warehouse town). 16 media, 25 press were invited for this event to explain the technical part of " TRD 2 ZZ-GE engine upgrade kit". The TRD celica sports M and the Will Vs (both uses the 1.8L VVTL-i 2ZZ-GE engine) were used to showcase the power of this upgrade. This kit was developed with the engine tuning know-how of the TRD. Other high performance parts used were the light weight flywheel, the exhaust manifold, muffler and the sport air filter. Power improvement can be easily attained.

Many car magazine in June featured this event.

The light weight and compact 2ZZ-GE engine with a bore size of 5.5mm is the smallest bore in the world which uses together with an all aluminum make cylinder block and the adoption aluminum pipe intake manifold.

The installation of the high compression piston, ultra low friction piston ring set inside the engine, port processing of cylinder head was all done in the TRD direct TAMA shop. The highest output gain was approximately 20bhp and largest torque of 20Nm. This improvement was achieved by installing all engine parts in full. In addition the moment of inertia was reduced by the fact that the lightweight flywheel was installed. Sharp engine response could be felt.

High compression piston

The TRD piston is made by aluminum forging as compared to the standard aluminum casting process. On top of the light weight characteristic (70g) the TRD piston has administered molybdenum (A polyvalent metallic element that resembles chromium and tungsten in its properties; used to strengthen and harden steel) processing to the skirt section. On the standard piston only iron plating processing is being administered to the surface. Both forging and use of molybdenum guarantees sliding characteristic which is more superior and efficient.

The high compression ratio is acheived by modifying the form of the piston crown. The modified 2ZZ-GE engine now has 13.0 compression ratio as compared to the stock 11.5. A TRD logo is engraved on top of the crown.

The modified 2ZZ-GE engine improves almost 15Kw (20hp) of power and gain a maximum torque of 20Nm with the stock ECU.

ZZZTTTTT!!!!......

MAKE ME SCARED AND FEEL REAL OLD WHEN

BACA " YOGA DAH TAK NAK MAIN KERETA"......

WHEN CONTINUE READING FEEL AND SEE PHOTO

WAHHHH... TERASA MUDA BALIK..HEHEHEE

Walaueh....damn nice man the car... So Master Yoga...when r u changing to it?? Remember to take me for a ride.. :P :D  ;) B)

Wah! The sifu buying new TRD-tuned car... n selling off his SEG cheap cheap... :P

Dislike the look of new celica?
Nvm, Go for the Will VS~
That one sure WILL sastisfied!

Cool outlook!

i want the engine only! enuff liao... put in my car better (after a 10k body work )

 im in luuuuuuuuuuuuuuurrve~

wOw!TRD celica???powerful n nyce enuf 4 me!
c'mon guys.lets outgun those dc5s

Mighty excellent car. But to think of it beating the DC5 is still a far shot. Don't flame me. Just look at the facts. The toda package for the DC5 plus some minor bolt ons ( intake, headers, exhaust + toda engine kit) put on an amazing 50+ hp to the WHEELS and over 30 ft lbs of torque on the TYPE S alone.

Element,

the engine kit for DC5 from Toda USA contain an N2 ECU, so its suppose to bring more horses.

the 20hp gain for the 2zzge is using stock ECU, as quoted in master yoga's post

when not enough money mod car, usually spend time work or do "homework" or research lor.. me so lazy so just try to learn as much as posible..

IMO 2ZZGE shouldn't be use to compete against DC5 ler.. K20A is 2liter NA vtec, 2ZZGE only 1.8 liter, compare with B18C more suitable.

Yes I do understand, but if you look at yolk's post, the enire celica has been reworked by TRD. The Toda kit apart from the ECU is only Pistons and cams ( and bolt ons as I have mentioned). No head rework. If you compare it properly the ZZ has had much more work done to it.

And no ECU will help you gain 30hp to the wheels on a 2 litre NA car. It's just not possible.
