STREET SHOOTOUT 2 dot 5
Drift and Time Attack Challenge
Street ShootOut ties with Initial D movie promotions for the 2nd event of 2005!!

UPDATE...

SSO 2 dot 5 dates are finalised, see the dates below. It might seem a little funny to have drifting on a weekday and at night, but that's the only way at the moment that we can make the best of the 1 Utama New Wing open air carpark.. And face it, this has got to be the best venue so far in the history of SSO!

Registration on 30 June is also, for the moment, postponed to the weekend, being 4 June 2005 at 10am, same venue as always.

Also new is racing suits and rollcages. This new rule will gradually be implemented into the Drift Challenge segment. Drifting is taking off big-time, and speeds are ever increasing. Driver safety is most important.

Will be providing more info over the next few days...

COMING SOON TO A CINEPLEX NEAR YOU...

SSO 2 dot 5 is targeted for 4 June 2005, together with promotions for the Initial D movie, as well as to commemorate R3's participation in Super GT 2005. Yup, you heard it here first!!

But let's not jump the gun. Final venue is still to be confirmed, but keep for fingers crossed for the 1-Utama carpark. If you thought Danga Bay was a blast, then this event will blow your ribbed, strawberry-flavoured XXL-sized condoms off!

Also new is racing suits and rollcages. This new rule will gradually be implemented into the Drift Challenge segment. Drifting is taking off big-time, and speeds are ever increasing. Driver safety is most important.

Stay tuned for more info over the next few days...

Racing suit and 4 point rollcage (1/2 cage) are highly encouraged for this round, and will be implemented in coming rounds particularly for the Drift Attack Challenge.
Time Attack course will follow previous SCCA-standard autocross course layout planning, incorporated into the carpark layout (ie. there will be curbs!)
Time Attack will be based on quickest time through the course.
The fastest drivers of each Class will qualify for the Race of Champions Shootout!! Finalists will be required to negotiate a small obstacle route and then pilot a "Bitch" car through the course as quick as possible to be crowned the event's Street Champ!

do we really need the Racing suit and 4 point rollcage.... i know most of the drifter dont have it..... it wil cost them alot of money and is just for this event!

exactly... why compromise on safety??.. it's motorsports after all.

I know some of the competitors have these suits.. mights as well wear them.. gaya oso.. heh heh

aibon,

roll-cages are just like seat-belts.(and helmets!)
the day you need them, you'll need them badly!

NOT because the law says you MUST wear seat-belts, but plain common sense loR.

It's normal lah, a lot of people got money to mod engine, mod suspension, try new tyres, buy lots of gauges, but no money to install roll cage, buy fire extinguisher, etc, etc

Those that drift on mountain roads, did you see Marcus Gronholm roll down the mountain at the Rally of Italy? The roll cage saved his & co-driver's lives, and he can even wind down the window to ask the spectator how to get back to the rally stage!

The gist of it all is not about the buying part. It's the installing part. Since some cages (even some bolt ons) requires cutting part of the interior.

where are the TBC located at?

I'm seriously didn't know where are the location of the SSO 2dot5 taking place,

have any senior members or someone else could tell me, please? As well as could

get a direction maps. Perhaps, you could email to me at

[email protected], thanks!
