Top speed is the name of the game and in the hyper car club, the Bugatti Veyron Super Sports has just laid down its winning hand with a royal flush of 1,200hp and a top speed of 431km/h and the successor to the Shelby Supercars Ultimate Aero has got to play its cards right if it want to take back the title of ‘World’s fastest road car.’
There’s no official word yet on the powerplant that will have to pump out in excess of the 1,183hp the current Ultimate Aero TT has but short of a nuclear reactor, SSC would probably find a way.
Penned by Jason Castriota of the Bertone Mantide fame, the Ultimate Aero will have to tighten its aerodynamic package as well as kick up the power output.
Slated for unveiling on 8 August, the venue picked by SSC fits the occasion like a well machined sleeve- Boeing’s Museum of Flight. Perhaps it’s a not-so-subtle hint of things to come for the next generation Ultimate Aero.
