Hi guys,

Currently I owned a Civic SR4 with D16a7 non-vtec and none modifications. What is the temperature for the car when it is idling. Mines car hit above half of the meter as per picture before the fan kick on.

In my old D16Y7 single cam non-vtec, the fan kicks in at about that point, maybe slightly below that. Does your engine temp goes up during traffic jam or high speed cruise?

The temperature will not even hit half of the meter of the meter when in high speed. Only when stop at traffice light will hit tat point

afternoon cruising should be half way mark
Night time cruising slightly below half way mark
Afternoon jam slightly above halfway mark.

To better gauge the water temp, invest on a aftermarket temp meter. Save you of lots of guessing works.

in all my cars... ALL my cars... the temp has NEVER gone above the halfway mark...no matter wat the situation is... coz the fan is there to ensure the temp remains cool

if it reaches or goes above the halfway mark, u have a problem. bring it to the workshop and get it checked... could just need a simple flush.

i just change a new gasket but the problem never solve. i have changed thermostat and fan switch. but its seen no working also

As long as that is the highest it will go, I think not a problem. My VR and SUV around the middle also. Only my Hyundai less then halfway, but there is two markings that the needle should be pointing at....

the rise in the temp meter is an indication of many problems to come, sooner or later.

The temp gauge of my wira last time went above the mid-level and fluctuates from time to time, during cruising. I ignored it as I thought it was due old age of components and radiator dirty. A few weeks later, the radiator hose burst, and barbequed my engine head. Warped it until leaking engine oil all over the engine bay.
