Hi guys,

want to do some enquiry,

01. May I know how do determind the RIM is 1 piece, 2 piece (not 2 pieces?) ?

02. what's advantage/disadvantages for 1 piece or 2 piece?

03. Any Rim in 3 piece? 4 piece? just curious.

You can go to http://www.enkei.com and check it out they show
1 piece rim, 2 piece rim and 3 piece rim

maximum is 3 piece only...

thanks for the URL, TitanRev.

so basically it is the different in manufacturing process.
still looking for the good or bad of having more "piece" :D

So Kimi and Montoya are using Enkei in F1 also yah... Acura chan shall get Enkei then, since she is a big supporter for Kimi. :D

2 piece means the rim made from 2 different type of metarial.. more flexible & tough

if im not mistaken someone used to tell me that F1 cars using 3 piece rim...

1 piece almost are forged rim...
2 piece and 3 piece rims are the centre of the rims can be seperated from the circle outside...

Initially 2 piece or more piece wheels are made for racing. The core, spokes or the rim can be made with different metals. Why? Simple science. Everything is always about momentum for a car. Lighter outer rim means less momentum, stronger metal for spokes means less flexing. Meaning overall lightweight single mould wheels are not always better. With 2 or more piece wheels, racers could experiment with different settings and requirements. None of these would wheel manufacturers tell you. hehehe.

But nowdays 2 piece or more wheels are mostly for show, as there are no speciality shops to mould different wheel rim, spoke or core parameters.

This should help i guess.

I heard that too, but don know how true it is .

isnt 2-piece a combination of 2 different pieces in one rim. Like those rims with nuts around it or another part welded to the rim. Thats how I understand it. I use Sparco 2-piece welded together.
