The Shell FuelSave Challenge is back for 2011 and this time around, the country’s most frugal driver stands a chance to win RM50,000 as the grand prize as well as more cash prizes to be won as consolation prizes.
“People are becoming increasingly aware of their spending habits and fuel consumption is a significant part of this. Realising this, it gives me great pleasure to announce that the Shell FuelSave Challenge will take place this year to discover how far everyday drivers can travel with a tank full Shell FuelSave 95,” said Azman ismail, Managing Director of Shell Malaysia.

“Shell FuelSave is a lifestyle enabler which helps you stretch your ringgit. Our mission is to help drivers save ten per cent of their fuel consumption by using Shell FuelSave 95, accompanied by the Shell FuelSave tips,” he added.
The FuelSave ambassador, Fahrin Ahmad, was on hand to further press home the message together with some celebrities, actress Kenchana Devi, singer Dina or Malaysian Idol fame and Mix.fm DJ Hisham ‘Sham’ Hamzah.

Motorists interested to participate in the challenge should be aged 24 years and above with at least five years of driving experience. They should make their way to the Shell FuelSave roadshows that will visit various cities nationwide. You will be required to answer a few questions and go through the elimination process. Alternatively, you may register online as well at http://www.shell.com.my/fuelsave.

As stated above, the grand prize is RM50,000 in cash. There will also be three winners from each of the states that the roadshow drops by that will each take home RM3,000. Furthermore, each state will also get 10 consolation prizes of RM300 each.
“This will be my third year as the Shell FuelSave ambassador and let me tell you that there is nothing better than knowing I am helping fellow Malaysians in improving their fuel consumption and driving styles. I hope by participating in this Challenge, my friends who participated in this event today are now able to educate and encourage as many motorists as possible to practice the Shell FuelSave tips, as well as the importance in choosing the right fuel for your car which is Shell FuelSave 95,” said Fahrin, who will be making an appearance at the roadshows.

The Shell FuelSave roadshows will be dropping by Plaza Angsana in Johor Bahru from 13-15 May before moving back to Sunway Pyramid Shopping Mall in Petaling Jaya from 20-22 May. The final stop of the tour is at Sunway Carnival Mall in Penang from 3-5 June.
