Just a warning......... Its an addictive car...... Owning one is like getting hooked onto drugs or alcohol.

Even though my is just a normal neo, I find myself cornering at much higher speeds and its really fun.

Its also a car that NOT friendly on your wallet. Cause so many mods around and I just feel like buying all of them and do up my ride.

Fell in love with the handling of a stock normal Neo campro..auto...
I'm just wondering how this R3 will be like...I'll get myself 1 if i have the budget no doubt about it..

Oo ya...just a reminder, this kinda car is the top on the list for car thieves,
so just becareful get a GPS tracking & immobiliser while u at it.

i think its a gd car..a fren of mine just got his...and its quite a nice looking....and..quite fast...not yet installed the r3 headers...im waiting for him to install so that i can test with him..

I am an existing 2011 R3 owner. Its a really nice car for drivers. If you are not, then its not meant for you. I've got a family but my Trajet and Waja will take care of family commitments. This car is meant for me. Its a personal choice. Never meant for posseurs. It is an addictive car as it can be driven hard. Best driven on twisty roads. Value for money. Some points on changes compared to normal driving cars;

1) High rev engine. But the gearing and the cams will make it easy to reach 4 to 7k rpm for the first 3 gears.
2) Since the cam is different, 7k is not the redline. You get standard CPS meter but really don't know where the redline is. I have never reached rev limiter point.
3) Yes the roofline is low. Its a good thing for drivers as you can easily assimilate with the car. I'm 175cm. Its a very personal preference.
4) Communicative Chassis; Corners can be taken at speed but if you do a lift off the back will tell you and you can adjust accordingly (as long as you don't panic).
5) FC is bad initially, but after the running in period with header replacement the ECU will adjust itself. I've done > 10k distance. I get a weekly FC of 6 to 7l/100km and that's with spirited driving. I've done 5.8l/km on long highway rides. But then enthusiastic drivers don't really care about FC. My Waja MMC is a better with FC.
6) The 2 DIN multimedia player is average. If MODE is on SD cards, it will restart to default first song everytime you switch it on. GPS is ok. Nothing to shout coz not really into it. But speakers are Blaupunkt's lowest coaxials 5.25in.
7) Rubbers RE001s are really good. They've come out with RE002s now.
8) CF filter box will rub against the liner on the hood.
9) Other drivers will try to cucok you on a daily basis.
9) Eats MyVis for breakfast, Karak highway for lunch and most CVTs for dinner.

So, if you want a Stage 2 NA hop up right out of the box, this is it. But if you need a base car to do your own setups, get the normal CPS version.

can we purchase neo r3 n have it tune out of the box with the neo r3 concept setup?? i would definitely love it..

Proton Satria Neo R3 Concept at KLIMS – 200 hp, 250 Nm!

Cant, last week i talk about that with the technical manager or something but the thing is it cant be done because the model (that concept car) they test and it failed, so they totally creating new model/chassis/engine (something2 that i dont know) of Satria for the turbo / supercharge version or lowering the power something like that. They need to test all kind of test, FC, durability etc etc bla bla bla.... to many... that what i remember...

PS : dont take my word as confirmation. Owh im getting it too, already booked

Hai there especially faris.salleh, mind share your car security futures? I will get mine tomorrow, really afraid about car theft now days. Any recommendation? Normal lock will sufficient or imobalizer and tracking needed.

damn.. im jealous of u guys.. maybe near future, i wanna own a neo r3 just for myself when it's already force inducted from the shelf.. made in malaysia all the way..!:driver:

Weeeee, got mine yesterday morning~ addictive! very2... but still cant rev as much as i like b'coz engine still new, only 2xx Km so far~

Again, can i ask is aftermarket alarm system and imobalizer is better then the stock one?
for SN R3 and well i think it's the same with CPS version. . . Suggestion anyone

i got mine build #67 last monday and its been fun ride! Done 390kms with average 8.3l/100km with spirited driving keeping below 6k. Will have the headers installed 1st service. Handles really super well and cant wait it to be driven hard. Engine note is addictive...cant imagine with new extractors installed.

Like Faris mentioned, I have the same opinions and little issues like airbox rubbing etc. The GPS unit at best needs an update which I will do weekend.I am fine with the immobilizer..my thought is some one decides to steal the car they will know how to get it done fast. Nothing much you can do bout it. Funnily enough car feels comfortable even with lowered suspension.

Faris and Kambing 69..what are you build numbers?

Congrats for your new car:biggrin:

Mine was #062 and i get it last Monday too. Yeah the airfilter was rubbing hood but not that hard becuase there is cover under the hood (to prevent from heat at the hood i think, was called hood blanket or something). already done about 600km now (8.0L/ 100km now), getting my 1st service this monday morning and yeah the car is really addictive but i got some minor problems with the car, already call the r3 manager since i know him.

rkbella33 have you try what the top speed u get right now? because i only get about 160km and the meter would never going to up, it like there was some cut or something, maybe it was set by them before we done the 1st service or maybe because the ECU setting was not quite right since it was set for r3 4-2-1 extractors?
Then have you try the GPS? i always miss junction because the update was so slow (example i was already at the T-junction but the picture in the GPS show about 500m back) and can i ask how to update the system? they will update it or DIY?

last, what head you going to change? they dint give me any head? or you buy it from them? how much the cost? item+installation
Is the header was like flat-steel like thing? the thing that come with the extractor or the extractor is called header? then what is extractor actually?:hmmmm: im confuse now... hahaha newbie here :proud: (my 1st car that i using my own money)

minor prob that i found :
1. GPS thingy (well according to the sales agent he said it was already update...:banghead::banghead:
2. the screw near the wheel arch was cover in white-chalk thing
3. left door trim loose abit, i think they need to make it tighter.

Hi K69
Wow we are pretty close in the build! I had my left door trim
Open at bottom and I hand banged it in. Also noticed some of the rubber
Clips for trim at bottom not fully inserted and pushed these in also.
The gps update is available free and there should be a authorization
Card with code that will allow you access to mapking download site. Just follow ibstructions.
I didn't update yet but registered myself only dunno wat model??:banghead:

The engine to me still is tight and haven't pushed it yet but did 130
In the countryside roads that I love.
The exhaust header or extractor was put in my car boot. If you
havent got it ask them. I will ask them install it 1 st service and it will
Mean the lamb sensors and cat box will not be there.
The unit is full stainless and looks superbly finished and expected
Release 8 hp or so from some reading I did. The service center
Will need to disable the sensor and expect it to be a hoot after removal

The gps on my unit works quite fast but hate the mapking
Sw..need to figure out how to update to Papago or garmin
Later as the system should be upgradable..:hmmmm:
Let's keep sharing our experience but I really like the car despite
All this for the drive. It's an honest drive without the gimmicks:driver:

hello r3 nerioans

im not own any r3 yet but only stock neo with ori r3 bodykit..:)

so through out reading this thread,i could sums up that your r3 come in with stock cps headers.this mean not yet unleashing the full power of SNR3.

it feels weird though (funny) what done by r3,why not putting in all as complete package buying the car.yes probably due to gently warming up the new hi-cam n running up the ecu until 1st service.they should state in it that the r3 extractor comes separately and will installed after the 1st service in the booklet.i not the customer dont know n probably not having full enjoyment n fun driving SNR3.

i saw one in Perlis here(imagine,in perlis?!),pretty damn fast!
