[QUOTE="runemaster, post: 2170252, member: 51184"] Helo everyone out there. I'm planning to change to a new car, and have been doing some survey. Those survey only include the price tags, mostly because I can;t really find the reliability and durability of the car in question. Cars that I've survey includes Toyota Vios, Honda City, and Perodua MyVI. I excluded Hyundai in my research. Anyway, I'm kinda leaning toward Honda City VTEC more than VIOS, mostly because there are more features in City than in Vios. What I need to know are: -reliability, durability -Fuel Consumption, -pickup, or the power of the car. Please note that I'm not someone who knew a lot about cars. Ask me about torque and I can't even answer you. Anyway, I have test drive only Honda City VTEC (the sales center don;t have a I-DSI for test drive) and Toyota Vios. For me, both have about the same pickup. But one thing thou, the Honda City VTEC test drive car that I was on have some problem, one being the 7 Speed button not functioning. A new car and already have defects???? And it's for test drive???? This makes me doubt the durability and reliability of the car. But on the other hand, Vios don;t really have alot of feature to play with. A mechanic friend of mine told me that Honda cars are not durable and reliable, things are made out from cheap plastic, like the hinge of the bumper are locked down using a screw made out from plastic. I kinda like the interior of Vios than City VTEC. The silver metallic control panel in City VTEC makes it looked like it is made out from cheap plastics (maybe Honda City owners have a way to deal with it? If so, please help?) About fuel consumption, from what I heard, VTEC tend to burn more than i-DSI, but from the salesman, both are about the same, if the VTEC engine does not kick in (meaning I did not rev it up to about 4k rpm). Can anyone please verify this? Also i-DSI engines have more pickup than VTEC engine, but VTEC engine can still go on after a certain speed. Is it true? So, I hail to all Toyota Vios and Honda City VTEC owner, please shed some light for me. Both cars are not cheap and I don;t want to regret making the wrong decision, ie buying a car that give a lot of trouble in later days. And oh, if anyone got any suggestion, maybe suggestion of a better car in that price range, please don;t hesitate to post it. Any suggestion that you guys have is most welcome. Thanks in advance.
