Need Help For tyre selection KU36/Achilles 123S

Dear all sepang sifu,

Need your help on below, try find in the net but not much comparison,

Tyre : Kumho KU36 / Achilles 123 S
Size : 235/45/17
Purpose : Track day & Time Attack ( Sepang )

Tread wear is different, but anyone have experianced the different between these 2? Or anyone use 123S before?

**Looking for tyre that can use street and track
**Abit low on budget

i know alot of guys say ku36 perform quite good.. but no idea on achilles 123s.. but currently i'm using achilles atr sport 235-45-17..

why not go for R888 straight since its not gonna be used for the streets?

sorry bro, my bad, i dint state why i only choose these 2 tyre, cuz Kumho i got friend can help me get it at RM2000 for 4 pc, achilles RM1600++ for 4 pc, am abit low on budget hence would like to get some advice.

I did drive my car some time on the street hence R888 was not suitable and very expensive for me.

i heard federal 595 rsr also quite good.. but not sure the price..

Achilles 123 overheats very fast. In Dato Sago track about 4 laps and the tyre doesn't grip as nice anymore. Cold and first 3 laps it was great. After 4 laps got under and oversteer characteristics. Can see the tyre peeling off also.

BTW, anyone interested to join coming track day at 17/10/2013 ( 10am - 2 pm ) RM550 i think, according to my friend there still slot left.

Noted bro, but did u adjust the tyre pressure after few laps? Because normally pressure will be up by few PSI after few lap run, is the excessive wear is due to pressure too high?

Last time my tyre wear out very fast cuz i did not adjust the tyre pressure, only keep pushing lap after lap.

the o2 inside tires are expanding due to high temp... dont go for max pressure before running..

1 guy told me, he use rsr 17 inch or 18 inch on subaru ver 10, tyre crack not even use 1 yr, te manager dun want change for him, so, he bring this case to tribunal, finally he get rm2500.

123s side wall very soft. not suit for track. i used once on track sepang. i had been tested R888, 123s, federal rsr, silverstone fully slick.

123s is totally not suit for track. not grip at all. when corner more danger coz of under n oversteer.

because at one point before it became scarce, the price went up to about RM320-350/pc from its initial release price of RM280/pc

recently my friend called some random online advertiser and asked and got a quote of RM5xx/pc for 205/50/15 LOL LOL LOL when asked why... "because the tires are hard to find now"
