my kenari is 4yrs old. dashboard still intact, no terrible sound etc. all std except lowered spring cap ayam with std shocks...just regular service. go back perlis aT LEAST once a year...doing 120 - 130 cruising on north south hiway...no problem...

proton's dashboard will bunyi in no time. a lot more tiny problems that will give u headache...aftersales service sucks big time!!!

my GTi is 6 yrs old. bunyi all over...got whistling sound from air cond vent somemore....i think she's tryin' to communicate with me la...

Do you think only proton having the problems...we have seen cases of new BMW and Camry got burnt in the middle of the road but still proton getting most of the flak kust becos of some isolated case of a gen.2 getting burnt being published in the media... My 18 year old Saga till now still doesn't have squeks, weird sounds or rattling..

since that your judgement on cars are superficial la..just because they have airbag, roomy doesn't mean they are good car...I don't agreewith the quietness of MyvI, if you don't turn on the radio you still can hear the engine noise..it's like an oversized kancil, the suspension doesn't abosrb well, too soft the whole thing shook like empty can, feel light - kelisa's the same case also.

.funny thing is MyVi owners need to buy some cheapo bonnet insulation from perodua like from kedai abang who is selling cheaper, the type put on by yourself later one....while Savvy has got the insulation materials screwed on their bonnets and inner/outer firewall which is come as standard like waja, and gen.2.

MyVi engine needs overhaul when only 3 weeks on the road...why I don't hear a voice bashing myvi ar...sounds and squeeks from their dashboard...

Not only that, FRUSTRATED CUSTOMER from Klang says her Perodua MyVi 1.0, which she collected on Oct 13 last year, shook violently and she had to send it for repairs several times.


IMAGINE taking delivery of a new car only to find it leaking near the wipers and the dashboard.
“It broke down in the middle of the road once,” she says.
Although Perodua claimed it has repaired the car, FRUSTRATED CUSTOMER finds it strange that a new car like hers could have so many defects.
“Perodua should replace it with a new car,” she says.


PERUSAHAAN Otomobil Kedua Sdn Bhd (PERODUA) customer relations officer Anis Mohd Sobri says it is not the company’s policy to exchange cars under any circumstances.
However, she adds that FRUSTRATED CUSTOMER was offered the use of another car when her vehicle was in the workshop.
“We only replace cars if there are major technical defects,” says Anis.
“In this case, the customer’s car does not fall under this category.”

The point of this post, proton may have some issues with quality, it''s not that bad until every proton owner is feeling disastified with their car..other car makers tend to have quality probs but proton is unfairly targetted becos they're the largest fish/

I scream loudly from my heart Proton Boleh!! after I've driven my fren's kelisa and myvi and realised how good my baby savvy is compare to others..damn proud of my savvy.

@rollakid, fair enough revies..I was kinda disappointed the choice of materials the use to make the interior door panel...no fabric at all....well it's not a major prob..
The materials they use is a major improvemnt from earlier batches of gen.2

some savvy onwners have put some fabric on the surface making it even more nicer that even more expensive cars..

plastics that can be recyclable is the rule, vynil based trim will begin to fade in the future...people will miss the smell of old second hand car with vynil trim.

At least the hard plastic of savvy dashboard is harder than BMW 1 series dashboard.

plastiky materials can be improved yourself, but world class tuned suspension is much harder to achieve.

Chips Yap got it all wrong comparing Proton to GM. GM already revamped their product lineups, quality of products increased tremendously.

Proton had only one product that was claimed by Proton to be of good build quality. What about the others? Still selling Saga to con people? Still selling all those that were prone, deemed to fail consumers? Quality assurance is affected by overall company image rather than solely product itself. If Proton were so keen to sell something which is supposingly well engineered, quality assured, then STOP selling low quality, lemons, then only Savvy will help Proton build up its image. Making a good car trying to polished up own's image and at the same time selling craps to make money is another stupid act.

GM cares for their image and products, really. Proton just wanna sell Savvy. And speaking of good build quality...... does that mean that something that breaksdown easily will only then be regarded as bad quality? Nope, well built car should also be build with pleasant plastics .... a better consideration on the materials used, not those from Savvy and Gen2. :)

Perodua had just released a facelifted kelisa..no one in their right mind will stop selling their most profitable product - do you think perodua will stop selling kancil any time soon.. I DON'T think so ;)

Saga isn't a lemon..it's the most cheapest car to mantain - look at their parts price..it's very cheap..still selling and running well on the road I see.

One big reason people buy Savvy is they hate to wait.
whats the different ? lotsa car enthusiast will go for myvi b'cause unlimited upgradable & u just go to cut shop & find one, heck u can convert it into passo or boon & is that easy, transplant - no problem, performance part - no problem, even now they install brembo calipers.
but what can u do with savvy ? one members has to customised its bodykits because its but are damn ugly & how to improve performance ? transplant ? probably there a little hope to find renault clio at cut shop
Think what will happen in the next 3-5yrs, better not regret later

renault half cut is just at our doorsetep..thanks to our singaporean friend..a trusted and experienced mechanic of mine have told me, when I asked his opionions about Savvy and Myvi 2 months ago - Savvy and Myvi is considered new on the road -part wise, relaibility wise - we will know how they will fare in the future - parts wise etc...where do you get passo and boon parts in the first place..need to shipped from japan rite???myvi platform is also new to malaysian roads.... since that MyVI has infested malaysian roads like ants..i dun think the owner will have problems getting the parts.

Savvy owners currently have choice to purchase performance parts like sport mufflers, sprint, bofykits from R3 or some custome shop - look at those modified savvy - doesn't show we're lack of option when modifying our ride..when there's a will, there's a way.

any high performance engine from renault that can easily bolt into the savvy? bodykits? not everyone is interest in those, like me, i want a sleeper.

I like how some people always emphasize the Renault engine and then link that to Renault's F1 exploits. As if that has anything to do with the car.

The Savvy is smaller and less practical and interior plastics look cheaper. You should mention that as well. It is cheaper because you also get less car.

BTW, AMT is not "only have at Europe car".

Go Myvi's interior also look cheap , hard plastics. If people can say Dahaitsu Boon's plastic interior looks cheap and scratch easily, what to say more of the more inferior and downgraded version!!
