u need to find a good air intake and suitable exhaust system setup to balance up the ratio...else, u will never get the best FC out of ur ride..
 
will there be any better performance by just changing to K&N filter without tuning? (with original exhaust system)
 
if ur current AFR mixture is optimum, changing to K&N filter will make ur AFR run lean compare to last time.... because the amount of air is more compare to fuel...

so, best is retune ur AFR back to optimum so u can get more out of it....

anything we do to our car is regarding AFR... like changing to performance air filter, it is basically jz increasing the amount of air passing through the filter....
when air increase, u need to balance back the AFR, thus richen ur AFR screw to make it optimum....

hence, more air + more fuel = more power....
 
sqleon, nice rim la u have..btw, i did change my whole exhaust system already..now using zenden extractor..after done tuning the car ok already and yes i felt fc increase a bit..a bit only la not much

fc no need worry u la... ur car full tank can go above 500km.... hahaha... increase abit still consider vr good for us....

tell us ur secret la... why so good fc??...
 
i reli dunno how u guys get more than 400km for RM50 ... my RM50 can get around MAX also i think 350km only, city n sometimes highway (federal highway) driving la .. stuck in jams sometimes..

no secret la sky..just add some fuel saver magnet and volt stabilizer oni and just like u always said control right foot..my car full tank around RM80 can go to 500++km if drive like old man laaaa..nowdays cannot get that figure already 'coz now i can't control my right foot..hheheeh!!

my average fc in malacca here around 9.5km/litre only la... (full tank = 350km)...
here cannot control right foot la... must alwiz press more to climb hill... some more 1.3L only, no power to climb, so tekan more la... haha....

full tank 500km, i can only do that on highway (with speed without exceeding 130kmh).... when i tried 160kmh, fuel needle drops faster than the speedo climbs....

wow means ur fc is 12km/litre, very fuel efficient. Mine just 10.7km/litre. so u got VS oni ? how bout GK ? thinking of getting both, hope it helps to increase my fc. :shades_smile:

my FC is average around 11.5km/l. This includes high revving often and normal drive. 50-50.

well, somehow, i haven't tuned my A/F ratio before. just touched on idling rpm adjustment. it's pretty good. i installed 10mm Cables, 4pins plugs. and this already increased my car power pretty much, without increased in FC.

actually i got a problem bugging me la... planning to start mod my car some more.... but got limited budget.... so, the thing that into my consideration are...

- volt n vacuum gauge (diy install)
- adj campulley (diy tune)
- change rear abs to gas-charged (hopefully the ride not too bumpy)

can help me decide??... which one is better??...


recently done my undercarridge LEDs adi.... but not really alligned properly la... the light is kinda scattered.... hahaa.... later allign properly adi only snap photo...
planning to buy aluminium sheets and diy airbox.... or mayb hope can try diy custom skirts (JDM style) using aluminium sheets.... hehe.... but this requires welding and molding.... after that need to respray some more.... many work.... ><

btw...u changed ur pulley already? or don't tell me the original pulley can be adjusted.
 
sky, do u have high profile cam shafts? if no, no point getting a adj pulley... u wont feel a nuts out of it... even with high profile cam in a sohc with adj cam pulley, also wont feel much difference.. sohc with adj pulley only can give u one advantage out of 2.... either u have pick up or top speed...

and.... adj cam pulley itself wont generate bhp..... it only allow u to set the desire powerband....
