yeah 10 sec bit to fast la in my opinion..but dats bout the only complaint from my side..cheapest way than getting a 2 way alarm system

just to share, I am already using a VIper 2 way alarm (1km on paper, in actual tested ard 400m effective range) but still I was one of the earlies to purchase this T-Rex.

At first was laughing at it coz I was saying which 'idiot' would buy such expensive 'steering lock'. LoL. Of course after going through it's features and test, I bought one without looking back.

Think of it as a small backup to wake you up or inform you while you are nicely in a Cinemal of a mall should some big time thief is able to disarm or disable your super duper high-end 2-way alarm or even worst, take out the entire battery power from your car rendering your main alarm useless.

That is when this will come in as your last line of defence.

I just spoke with the distributor again. He said stock for the T-Rex is coming in around mid-November. The problem is the best price he can give us is RM650 per unit. He explained that prices have gone up even before the previous bulk order, but he had promised me RM599 per unit.

For those interested, don't despair, try to keep things in perspective. It's a good product. It's still cheaper than retail price. Other security upgrades are more expensive. And lastly, is your Evo worth 650 bucks? :)

i have customised thick aluminium plate to replace the battery cover, (very bad workmanship, coz my wife occasionally came to stare at me when i did it lastnight...), also replaced both with "star head" screws (usualy found inside eletronic devices).

If I am not mistaken, it is actually 30 secs after you snap your T-Rex, it will start functioning. So you have 30 secs to get out from the car after you snap your T-Rex.

The 10 secs is when you come back and unlock the car, the moment you open the door, T-Rex will detect it is an invasion and you have 10 secs to disarm it by using the key to unlock the T-Rex. Otherwise the T-Rex will sound and signal the receiver.

So now you have 30 secs or as what Bernard said wait till u finish whatever u want to do then only snap the T-Rex lor....hahaha

notice the screws are 75% sitting inside the hole so that you cannot use pryer to loosen the screws.

i took out the screws from my office plotter... hehe... i couldn't find where selling this type of "star head" screw.

if you want to do this and do not know where to buy the aluminium plate, let me know, i can sponsor lah this one.

Looks very neat...where got bad workmanship? This is a very good idea actually. Make it hard for thieves to shut it up. The actual name for this type of screw is 'Torx screw'. Let me check with my colleague. Maybe can get some.

mynnDAWG, i used "steel saw" sawing the aluminium plate, it took me some time to get it done. the edges are not done well, notice one side of the edges is too close to the screw...

if you interested i can sponsor the aluminium plate send to you by pos, hoping you can do a better job than mine :P.
