The return of Mini to the World Rally Championship (WRC) sees it bearing some hefty expectations on its little strut braces but rest assured, the manufacturer is trotting along just fine with the help of Prodrive and some experienced hands at the helm.

There have been a number of videos of the Mini John Cooper Works WRC car, which is based on the Countryman, tearing up dirt tracks in testing and development, but none quite like this. The video here shows all the action shots and scenes, with more airtime than an NBA game.

Drivers Dani Sordo and Kris Meeke through the Countryman WRC car through the dirt and mud of the rallying circuits, showing no remorse as they flog the car for all its worth. It’s a highly entertaining video of the Mini and should help liven up an otherwise slow Monday.
