hello all.... is bout my fren microtech.... he jus install a micritech, donno which model... the foreman is so sux, when my fren want to ask him bout the pin code to tune the microtech, the foreman said he usually don tell anybody bout the passsword, if wanto tune unlock yourself... the foreman is sux...located the subang 3 ther called AH Meng...

And i important thing i wanto ask is whether any one know any soltion to unlock the microtech???? help

this is your own microtech ... he should give u the pin code wat ... if he dun want to give you ... next time how u want to sell of your microtech or your car ar ?

Joshua never mentioned anything on the pincode when he's installing the unit. My car was there in Kampung Subang, the mech...if not mistaken, his name is Meng...

If that person setup a pincode, so I think it is their responsible to let the owner know the code. Do you agree?

They are tuners. if you buy HKS FCON you think they give you the code? NO you have to go to the tuner and he will tune accordingly. Same goes for PowerFC which needs powerexcel software to tune (which requires key) but you can opt for second vendor key (datalogit which cost 1600 and key is yours to keep)

I used to think the same way but its actually very simple. They are tuners and maps configured belongs to the paying customer but not at the cost of jeopardising their income. I've been to mechanics for work that i pay for and when i watch they will pretend to do the easier stuff and the important assembly will be dont later when the customer is not there as to protect their vested interest.

Its completely normal.Nothing new same as in australia and states.

but ... as wat I know ... ppl choose to use the microtech becoz of it no need pay extra money for the tuning software and no need pay extra money for the tuning license .. it totally different with HKS FCON ...

And .. the microtech from australia disign the pincode for the ecu is for protect the ecu from stolen and reuse in other vehicle or protect the car stolen by set the pincode to prevent ppl start your car ....

if they not giving the pincode .. mean the function that prevent our car get stolen gone lar ?

Like SAFC 2 ... they got password to protect the unit from stolen and reuse ... how can the shop install for u .. and keep that password ... if the shop staff come and steal the unit ... sure they can break the password and resell it lar ....

my microtech installed by ah meng also ... but i contact joshua wan lar .... that time they din set any pincode for my microtech also ....

OKie.. I'm the person who like to do research on my setting and the engine part ... i always play around with my engine and the setting also ... even joshua set perfectly for my car .... sometime i will bring my car to dyno see whether there is any faulty .... (example.. fuel pump got abit problem ... insufficient fuel supply) ... but .. if the whole system work fine .. and the dyno chart show that certain point seem like not perfect and need to touch up ... then i will do it myself ... if they lock my ecu ... how i do that ? This is my ecu rite ? I got my own rite to modify the setting rite ?

The password of your ecu unit should be given to the ownerlah of course without a doubt. if not how you going to use your equipment. its like buying a blaunpunkt radio and not knowing security number.

so far ... i know joshua from the day i installed microtech ... until now ... he is the person who will teach us how to tune our microtech... he is the person who let me know which setting for which function ... from here ... i can sure that joshua won't lock our microtech and not giving the pincode .....

the pincode for lock the ecu from start engine and the pincode for lock the ecu for tuning is the same pincode ler ....

Sorry guys for being missing in action for sometime now..
was very very sick, ill...down with severe fewer,etc...
still in bad shape..hopefully will be up on my feet within this next few days i hope...

oh yah just read about the pin code issues...

well just for your information..i never lock any of my customers ecu..
and cypress88 i did not give u a pincode because the ecu is not locked.

its your own free will to do anything with your ecu..coz u've paid for it..
no probs..
i mean if u tune anything and change setting and car does not run properly good for me ma..good more business can charge for tuning again..
hehehehhe :)

Josh .. if I forgot my own pincode ... is there any way to break the pincode ar ? If send back to australia to break it ... how much it charge ar ?
