Is this normal? Never happened when I was using Pilot Preceda 2 or Goodyear Revspec RS-02

I drive only on tarmac. No off road or anything.

How old is your tyre adi?

Waaaa...... My tires also having the same problem. Normal daily driven to work and sumtimes mild spirited driving (highway). Experiencing the exact same problem like yours. Small chunks of rubber missing.

Not that old, got to check the receipt. But still a lot of thread left. Look at the wear indicator on the 2nd picture, still a long way to go till it hits the Michelin Man (wear indicator).

But the rubber itself is falling apart.

How old are your tyres? And roughly how many KMs on it?

Mine clocked less than 20,000kms.

Mine also doing the same thing...
PS3 245/40/18

lots of touge run and two tracks..totally gone...and i hate these tires!

It is not under inflated. Tyres are always properly inflated. This is not due to wear, the rubber is literally shredding off, even in the center block, just less visible.

Not due to setup, more likely compound failure. My GY Asy had this problem but it happened after it passed 4 years of age. If yours are still new, report back to Michelin....

Yup, report back to michelin, I read somewhere can be replaced? if still new la...not sure
PS3 got warranty or not, but my PP2 got 6 years warranty.

Should be same as your PP2. Surprisingly, many members and friends have used until bald a set or two already without this problem. First time I am see this on the PS3
Ya, previously I use PS3 also still okay. Maybe this particular batch faulty models gua...

6 years or usable tread life, according to Michelin Malaysia
Michelin Malaysia - Warranty of Michelin Tyres - http://www.michelin.com.my - www.michelin.com.my

And since I am not even close to the wear indicator & Michelin Pilot Sport 3 is out for less than 6 years, so definitely still in warranty even without receipt, which I still have.

Monday I'll call them, how they treat me will determine if I'll continue being a Michelin customer. I shall see if they back their words!

Kindly let us know bro...the outcome. I heard they only refund the amount of cash depending
on the thread left on the tyres. Best if u go back to the mech that change the tyres for u.

Cuz my mech told me, since they are Michelin Dealers, is easier for them to get the claim for us.
Most of the time they will just say, ur tyre must be under inflation and etcs. Meaning to say
is our own negligence on caring for the tyres...So, if your mech is michelin dealers, send back
to them. They will handle for u.

Actually it is better customer go and claim. Make noise, and don't back down.
Dealer go and claim, they say this amount is this amount, cannot do anything. They say no claim then how? Moreover you go back to dealer you have to fit new tyres first to return claim tyres.
If go to Michelin direct, they give you claim voucher, then you go to dealer and change and pay the difference. There you can ask dealer you want other brand.....ha! ha!

True also wor...good idea. Can bargain ourselves, cuz dealer bargain, bargain fail or win also
we have to change tyres in the end  So doesnt matter to them

Usually they more afraid of customers, because they can learn from bro. Danz......ha! ha!
Teach some friends before and had better results. Even some of my tyre shop owner ask customer claim is better, especially when tyre bulge. If you remove from the rims, they say owner curbed the tyres. If the tyres still on the rims, can show them rims got no injury where got curbed the tyres, so got better chance to claim....:driver:
