Recently I bought an EK4 front crossmember (subframe) complete with steering rack and anti-roll bar (ARB). The EK4 ARB is much bigger than EJ's. After fitting it, body roll was significantly reduced and steering feel more direct, not as sloppy as before. Me very happy!

After a few days of driving, I heard some loud clunking noise from underneath the car when travelling on uneven road. Jacked the car up and saw the right side ARB drop link 'pecah' already, the balljoint popped out from it's socket. This broken drop link was swapped from my EJ because it's still new and the EK4 drop link is not in very good condition.

So, at the moment I use back the EK4 drop link. There's some clunking noise although not as loud as before. I believe it's only a matter of time until this drop link also pop out from it's socket.

My questions are:
1. EK4 front lower arm vs EJ front lower arm: Are they different in design?
2. Could it be that EK4's stiff ARB caused the drop link fail?

HELP!

i doubt that theyre different... Honda is pretty lazy......

and i assume the ARB is stiff causing the bushings to kaput.. and for all u know...the bushings were already on their way to kaput.

TQ for the input mADmAN! Actually, the lower arm could fit the ARB perfectly, but one of the link is at some weird angle, like this --> \. AFAIK, they should be straight --> |. Yup, it could be possible that the stiff ARB caused the link to deteriorate faster.. Pain la like this..

wat about ur rear? got ARB? its possible that if u dont have the rear ur putting extra stress on the front ARB due to the imbalance. possible la...just me noobie guess.

and yes...typically the endlink should sit straight instead of at an angle. did u check the ARB before? was it bent or anything? u could also try drilling a new hole in ur arm so that u can position ur endlink straight the way its supposed to be. but dunno safe or not la :D

I already got rear ARB, also from EK4. Hmm, it's not bent I think, already checked it. Aiyoo, if drill the arm I'm worried might damage the arm sooner or later, hehe..

I forgot to add one thing, actually, my springs and shocks are standard. Do you think that might cause extra stress on the ARB when cornering?

possible... coz during my kelisa days. they did say that arb with stock abs will pul more stress on ARB
