ok, i think i have a warped engine block. just wanna hear ur experience and thoughts about my issue. my engine is a b16a.

my engine temperature, rises when i'm idling and goes back to normal when i'm driving. radiator is not leaking, radiator fan is working. i m also using coolant for my radiator.

my mech told me my block is warped. he did the following.
- removed the radiator cap
- accelerate
- water came squirting out from my radiator, and it was bubbly.
= warped block?

so, would overhauling be sufficient, or get another engine kosong? of course the latter is more expensive. gimme some feedback for those who have done it.

thanks and much appreciated.

Hi, i had a problem like yours before. B16A as well. Open radiator cap, rev the engine and water comes squirting from the radiator.

Tried to salvage the engine but since Honda engines are made of aluminum, you are bound to fail. Skimming the block won't do any good. While the engine is cold, yes you have a very good block. But once the engine is running/hot, you'll find that the block curves again. It's the properties of aluminum.

I ended up with a new engine kosong in the end. I hope that you don't waste your money as i did.

Happened to me also....

Usually its the head that gets warped....but check both just in case.....if its only the head, just do a top overhaul.....u'll probably need to just skim the head a little......while ure at it, get the radiator serviced and replace the cap (around RM60-RM100)....should be good as new after (depending on workmanship), it''l cost about RM600 - RM800 (head gasket + valve seal + workmanship).
While your at it it might be good to change the water pump, timing belt & seals (unless u've just recently changed it).....u'll save money later on..

Happened about 2 year back.....got no problems since...

is there any way to check if its the head or the block that is warped? i would be damn if its the block. head can just change to others *ngekz*

The head must taken out first, then a metal leveler is used on the top of the block to check any gaps......same with the head but checked on the bottom part..

option 2...

try using a "BATU" that u use to sharper a knife.
get a new pc...
try to scrub the surface of the block and head slowly for 1 minute,gently..
if it wraped...
u could see uneven surface......
good luck....
