Hi all,
I'm helping a friend of mine getting some info for the Skyline GTR R32. All info is welcomed and deeply appreciated.
Q: How to tell a Nissan Skyline (the 32 version) is a Coupe or Sedan just by looking at the chassis code and number? (The Japan Domestic, NOT those special imported to US)
I have the outcomes from the US websites that starts with "K" which stands for Coupe (e.g. KBNR32RBFS AA) but I believe those are for Skylines that are 'imported' to US. How about Japan domestic market?
For my understanding, FR32 and HR32 were built in Sedan as BNR32 came in Coupe only. How about RR32, RCR32, ER32, ECR32, HNR32?
Here is another scenario. If I wanted to buy a R32 with limited budget. Of course, getting an authentic BNR32 would be perfect but if there was a significant deal of converted versions like followed:
Seller A came with an ECR32, (i.e. Chassis ECR32-001234) (was actually a Coupe, providing Green Card stated Coupe) with all the things BNR32 has.
Seller B also came with an ECR32, (i.e. Chassis ECR32-005678) (was actually a Sedan, some how be able to "converted" the chassis and body to Coupe as well as Green Card stated Coupe) with all the things BNR32 has.
Now, how could I tell a Coupe ECR32 or a Sedan ECR32 between them without examine the actual vehicle? Is there any clue for ECR32-001234 vs ECR-005678? I never owned a Skyline so I just presumed their chassis would some how like that. Pardon me if I'm wrong.
It's like EVO's CK2A vs CK9A, at least there is a "2" and "9" different so that we could tell if it's an original or converted.
Thanks a lot to those giving opinion.
