shit!!i bought some electronic parts for my car from japan thru ebay.now the parcel arrived malaysia but kena tahan from kastam.and i got this letter that i need

1:akaun import kastam set 1(borang kastam k1)
2:invois pembekal atau lain lain keterangan megenai nilai yang diimport
3 permohonan untuk kebenaran mengimport yang diluluskan (borang ap)
4 perakuan pegecualian cukai serta borang k1 yang telah ditandatangani oleh pihal yang diberi kuasa

what the hell is all that??what i can do now?

i ship before so many stuff ranging from PU bushings to cams and fuel pumps no prob also

a trick, if its at kastam klia, just take a leisurely drive there. talk to them. tell them personal use and pay them like rm50 for tax. u even get a resit one... if those guards at the entrance as u gif duit kopi tell them next time. this time pay kastam until broke ;)

seriously, don't let pos malaysia 9 tim the tax for u. they charge u service charge in addition to the full amount of tax!!! or are u using DHL/FEDEX? those... can't lari. sorry man!

yes kastam need those things, if its related to communication stuffs for car then u have to go SIRIM to get it done then bring back to kastam again.

if u order thru ebay i am sure they use fedex, dhl or ups they will do it for u door to door, but if u are trying to save your shipping charges then they will only ship in to port of entry means u have to clear on your own (which is a hassle)...

solution : appoint a forwarding agent to do for you.

Ok, trust me no prob, cos i just have the exactly same case like you and all they want is money. Just go there personally with the letter. I just came back from there this morning.
the bring out ur good..
check it infront of you..
say "oh, ini barang kena tahan sini pasal kena duty lo"
then u go into the officer room..
they check the duty book... take sometimes cos these ppl a little idiotic.
then will tell you.. hmm.. tak poasti ini category apa..
erm.. electric punya barang la ya? then u dont know what to do so just anyhow..

then he calculate.. tit tit tit tit tit.....
nah, boleh? ini bayar ok? then if amount big , you like.. woah.. i beli ni pun murah dari duty..

Very Ma Fan wan dealing with those kastam people.

Just ask a forwarding company to deal and settle it for you.

Airport kastam more ma fan and if not mistaken, after 48 hours they will impose demurage penalty.

Faster find fowarding company to kaw tim.

If not mistaken, FStrader (Fred) is a forwarder.

Power fc ah? hmm.. i think the tax is 25% + 10% (this is the rate for HID kit, category under car equipment)
800 plus tax 300plus.. ..

my total item is 1500 kena 498 tax plus their bla bla dont know what da fux service, total up = 500++ ^&%&^^#@#%^!!

bring your letter to airport kastam office...bring your wallet to pay kopi duit.....

maynot need $500....depend on your bargain power....

used to kena them to retain my second-hand PS2(actually bought in msia but bring overseas but receipt is not with me that time!!!)....actual tax is $250(they said)..then after that tok tok tok....finally $50 then they let go....

I didnt bring anything except the "salinan" from them.
The invoice comes with the items. But i suggest you call them first to make sure before you go.

The will do the declaration form for you. Price is negotiatable, but I dont know la.. to see their
fux face i rather just paid and go.
My items is not with airport kastam, just post office kastam and their attitude is fux up enough.

This is what I heard (conversation between one office and a high rank officer) after the declaration officer calculated my items duty.

Officer one : 400 lebih ni...
Officer two : nanti I bagi tau la....
Officer one : declarations betul ker?
Officer two : nanti I bagi tau la, dia nak ambil hari ini, kita bagi ja la. Muka dia orang nak bagi cukai, kita bagi ja la..
Officer one : ......................

Same problem when I brought back an Aiwa CDC-MP3 from US. Kena 40% tax. After some bargaining session, got it down to RM 100. Pay the fella and collect the stuff. He even gave me his business card saying next time can help out. Wah! :D

eh, if i want to bring back a 51' plasma TV do you think its possible by pay kopi duit??....I saw the offer in hk here..about RM10k and its only 1/3 of the price in msia....but very risky rite?
