First Digital Camera

I'm planning to get a digital camera.
It would be my first digital camera and I'm using it to take normal pictures not like those professional ones.
I need advice from all camera experts here regarding:
Which is the best camera in the market I can get now regarding my budget?
What's the advantages and disadvantages of your suggested models?

Models in mind:
1) Canon Ixus series
2) Olympus FE series
3) Sony Cybershot

Budget: RM 800.00 to RM 1100.00.

so far, the olympus users i know aren't too happy with their camera. never heard any canon or sony owners have any real complaints for the price.

first digicam was an Ixus v3... good old reliable cam, which battery finally reaching itz end of life...

so, last weekend got a cheap deal for the casio exilim ex-z500... 600+ nia.. ok la.. not bad, certain ways definitely better than my old v3.. but somehow, my old v3 still gives better manual shots.

but nevertheless, money worth it.. coz i just want a basic simple digicam...

If you can stretch the budget to RM1300,look for Nikon Coolpix P5000.It is a good camera for the price.Or Fuji F40fd(RM1100+/-),this camera picture quality is good and have low noise due to the 1/1.6inch ccd and most of the other P&S only have 1/2.5inch.

Fully from Japan. Not much of a price difference. But the cam is great!!!
My manual all in Japanese, Japanese softwares and got invitation to the Nikkor Club. Olympus came out with new cam though!! Excellent cam. Semi Pro wan! ^^
