Some pretty amazing things can happen when automotive meets art and the results, more often than not, surpasses extraordinary and leaves us breathless. This one though will downright leave you suffocating.
Franco Cagayat is an autistic 21-year old Filipino that makes some of the most beautiful and detailed wood carvings of cars, all from a single block of wood. If that wasn’t impressive enough, the doors open and close, the interior is detailed and the engine bays are complete as well with functioning hoods.
The talented boy first dove into his passion by penning intricate drawings of his favourite cars before learning to translate them into carvings. The ardent Top Gear fan first got his taste of the Brit mag when a classmate offered to swap a copy of the magazine for a carving of a Ferrari Testarossa.
From then on, Franco begun to use the magazine as a reference point for his carvings. The video details how Franco first got into cars before moving on from the drawings towards carvings. Having chipped some fine specimens of Minis, Evos and even Estimas, his choice of a dream car might surprise you, although we have to say he has expensive taste.
