Hedgies live around 4-6 years. They are low maintenance creatures..woodshaving bedding(similar to hamsters) and cat food. Once in awhile you might wanna treat them with meal worms. its a fun pet and ours are hand bred so its really tame.

Housing and bedding is similar. Temperement is also similar..the more you play with it, the tamer it gets.
It grows larger than a hamster..it has bristles on its back(not as hard as porcupines..wouldnt hurt much)..and curles up like a ball when its scared.
