96 spec should be readily available and cheaper and without going through the hassel to change wiring and blower as well.

My friend is upgrading to the 99spec climate control so he might wanna let go his 96 spec.

This is the 2000 center console.. U can get it at SS racing if they still got stock.. It's about RM:900

i'm just wondering, i've seen my frens B16B half cut convert centre console which actually has some monitor/LCD screen below the aircon vents. is this stock on the original EK9? will this monitor/LCD thing fit into a normal year 96 civic and still function as normal?

the monitor/lcd is actually the GPS monitor and it would be of no use here as we dont have such system set up yet.

btw guys, to change to the 2000 spec canter console you will have to redo the wiring and stuff, pretty much work

Does it include the blower and wiring harness?

The dashboard shown in the picture looks pretty beat up with lots of scratch and dented mark around the climate control... Makes me think it's a hot target for those bastard who will take it off with force if got chance..

The dash is actually from my car.. Been searching for a place that can fix that.. It was like that since the day I bought the car.. It's quite hard to peel it off even with the screw driver without breaking it.. The console has a bracket which is mounted inside with 4 screws to the dashboard.. U have to dismantle the botom plastic part where the gear knob and e-brake are located.. It's a lot of hassle.. Unless they wanted to take your radio then they would definely break the damn thing..

However, I want to point out that the last batch of 2000 spec CTR climate control is different from the early 2000 and 1999. The last batch has glossy surface CF with some sort of blue tinted on the surface. Hence when you look at it, it has some sort of purple or blue reflection and I don't have a picture of it. The normal one is dull matt surface like this one:
