Hi all hondarians, jz wanna ask a question about the wiring n ECU for EK4 n EK9..
If my car is with EK4 stock wiring n ECU, can I directly plug n play with a EK9 ECU? Is it the same wiring position for EK4 n EK9 ECU? Or I need to mod some wiring?

Need experienced idea n comments. Thx.

Bro,

U cant just plug in da EK9 ecu like that into ur car. It wont work unless u hav mod to suit da EK9 ecu. Air flow n fueling r different and vtec open point r different also. I suggest u get a ur ecu rechipped. It would b better that way.

icic...but jz now i tried to plug in da ek9 ECU into my car, everything works...
for my ek4 ECU, there's a problem that when i start my engine, everything ok, but after i rev my car when idle or drive for some seconds, engine light on...Same to the EK9 ECU after i plug into my car...

I've sent my car(with EK4 ECU) for wiring checking, mechanic said that everything jz fine n normal, even the code also wrong signal which output from ECU, coz when he change to EG ECU with harness all plug n play, engine light gone..So he said it'z ECU problem...Ok fine, then i get a EK9 TYPE R ECU from a fren, which work normal for his car, then plug into my car, same problem occur, engine light on again after revving my car for some seconds..

Haih, can anyone tell me watz going on ?

from that you can assume wht exctly the root cause wht?i guess your machenic was rite, there`s somethings proble with your stock EK4 ECU since engine light on even the ECU just fine n normal, you cant jugdes the EK9 ECU have a samilar proble cause of the engine light on,like a c00lric mention there`s totally diff between EK4&EK9 ECU in term of air flowing & fueling or smthings, then of cause EK9 ECU would prompt light on when you fix it in your car coz it not suitable as well...as i know light on is the common symptoms while your ECU is going to be kong or unsuitable... and i guess your engine light will gone after swap it with other particular ECU....good luck bro.

Thnx suduRed bro.

Kent75,
1st of all u didnt mention that u hav this prob wif ur car. U should get ur car check thoroughly. Try every single thing till ur mechanic had solve da problem 4 u. both EK4 n EK9 r OBD2 ECU, so just plug it in will enable 2 start da car but driving it is another story. So, get ur car check out again.

I was just gonna tell you don't play around with wiring harness especially you don't know what you are doing which might eventually burn your ECU or other wiring harness eventhough it might look fine for now, but I guess it was late.

well i guess u gotta get the faulty code. i guess by now u should already know how to get and decipher it.

looking at what u've been typing, i guess the prob might not be with the ecu...coz when u use ur ori ek4 ecu, u got CEL on, then when u plug in EK9 ecu, the CEL do illuminate also. what i can say is, ur car is trying to tell u that there's something wrong somewhere with its sensors or other components.

due to the fact that both ecu is obd2, the CEL must be the same. u can try to check the CEL code using both ecu at hand.

happy hunting...

Thank you very much all for the informations n comments. Today I've sent my car to check the faulty code. Code shows that "knock sensor". However, my knock sensor is 100% working coz tested on another car. N now my mechanic said maybe it'z the wiring part for knock sensor goes wrong. So I need to put my car there for checking again. Haih....

Wanna ask, if the ECU got problem, will there be any code shows up?

Question:
EK - EG ECU interchangeable? (O_o)

Assuming you meant change the entire harness for EG into EK body.. then I ask...
So rajin change complete harness just to test ECU ah...? (O_o)

Suggestion:
Find/Borrow/Rob/Pillage/Loot a working EK4 ecu.. if engine light still on.. then one of the sensors/parts/wires is having problems.. loose connections, etc. etc. Sometimes it's just a socket problem, if the sensors check out fine.

ek-eg ecu not interchangeable due to different obd. but can be if got the correct harness.

i assume ur current CEL sode is 23-knock sensor

from my source, if ecu problem arise, the code should be 0....i wonder how u want to read that code..... any comment???

shiro, he talking about ek4 n ek9 laa... not eg... haha..
no one gonna change the whole harness just for testing eg ecu on ek... haha

ya, i din change whole wiring. The mechanic jz plug n play another harness which convert ek wiring to eg socket then plug in the eg ECU.

ya, thatz 23..Then i think shud be the wiring part that causes the problem..

sensor socket connection ? Hmm, i'll call my mechanic to check it out for me..

if u fried/flood/smashed your ecu entirely, the car wont start at all.
