did anybody using double clutching technique in autocross race..? may be in some 180degree turn?

I dont think a lot of people shift gears during the auto cross in the first place (mainly people stick to 2nd gear) . I would think its a waste of time. But though i see some people downshift to first. I tried that downshift to me i felt time wasted. and if you dont do it correctly downshiftin to first can burn you. ( clutch n the gearbox)

I don double clutch. Never use it before. I tot double clutch is for race cars without synchro? No point also cuz better spend time concentrating on steering the car. 180 deg turns only lift off throttle, or declutch only. But i'm not a fan of 180, so i may b wrong.

Really tight corners normally require downshifting to 1st gear. ;)

double de-clutch are for pre-synchro trannies...

nowadays heel & toe, making sure your wheel speed matches engine speed and clutch enganged properly enough already.

For 180 using heel & toe , brake, turn-in (and hand brake) get the car swinging, slot into 1st gear, accelerate and away you go.

easier said than done. thts around 4 process in matter of split seconds. I doubt many can do it. But do believe it can be done. Thats why i say many opt for not to change gear

Many that I know can and do so......especially Killer B...... who happens to be a multiple Autocross winner...

Sticking only in one gear is disadvantagous at times. Maybe in The Other Autocross not so as their courses are tight fiddly circuit.

But in SSOTA/R3TA there are many variables such as low speed to higher speed (in SSO2 at times 3rd gear was used). Comin out from a tight hairpin in 2nd gear will lose you so much time.

no one can all 4 better than Uncle Champ , Julian Pang.
gotta see to believe. No joke

Double clutch, no. Half-clutch, yes.

Hmm last round it's mostly 1st and 2nd gears.

I been guilty in sticking in 2 (lazy) in tight hairpins (expected to rely on "wide torque") but many afraid to misstime those changes cause it can look extreamely silly when horn, wiper, indicators are accidently hit.

I must not be lazy. I use to do (downshift to 1st) but maybe i need to go back to basics.

lotsa autocrossers proved that they can do it, it isn't a really hard thing to do

Hahaha, I used to always hit signals, horn n wipers too. Eliminated all that when I installed a steering spacer (50mm), or a deep dish steering (50-110mm depending on brand). A nearer steering wheel to the body gives more leverage when turning the steering wheel at tight corners too.

I think it depends on how good your handwork and how smooth u do it. Sometimes when i feel lazy i just leave it in 2nd gear but some tracks gotta use 1st. Just my 2 cents.
